August 2013 Moms

I've been Out-Mothered...

So MIL asked me if I give DD infant massage, I said yes, but not the daily.  She asked how often, and I said, 'here and there'. She said she used to give her babies massages every day to relax them.....(insert awkward silence here).

I've just been out-mothered.  Anyone else been out-mothered yet/recently?

I am constantly being told that I need to put a onesie under everything LO wears...including the onesie. Seriously? So if he is wearing a long sleeve onesie he needs a short sleeve one under it. I do NOT get this logic. Or if he is wearing a short sleeve onesie- he needs another one under that.

If he is wearing a snap down one piece- I put a onesie under it because I feel like the buttons can be drafty. And sometimes I put a onesie on under his zip down pjs at night because it's cold. But to wear a onesie under a onesie...WTF.

I don't consider this out mothering...I consider it a waste of laundry and creating an overheated/over clothed baby!

But what goes under the bottom onesie? WHERE DO THE ONESIES STOP?

I'm sure that "mommy know-it-all" who "out mothers" has a perfect answer for that ;)

I am right there with ya! When visiting my MIL I dressed LO in an adorable long sleeve onesie. MIL remarked "oh she's not wearing anything under this?" and I was just dumbfounded. Why does she need something under her onesie exactly??

  • Exactly....my sarcasm doesn't always translate via the written word...

  • Im out mothered by the chick who wont put the prescription diaper rash cream on her dd cause its unnatural.

Apparently she knows sooooo much more then me cause she bf and i ff. Yup she knows so much like how many problems i had nursing to the point i hated it and it wasnt worth the cluster of plugged ducts, the mastitis, and the ruptured abcess, and fighting ds bad latch.

Oh but! Now shes suplimenting with formula. Haha

lol! This is me actually. LO has never not had a onesie on. Where's my awardddd
jokes of course. Just a thing my mom did, and my sister did with her babies, so it was just natural to me to always have an undershirt on a baby.

  • I am out mothered by an EBF/natural birth is the only way to give birth Nazi. Seriously, anyone who does not do these things is less of a mother. Meanwhile, my c section FF baby is perfectly healthy and has never been sick while her 2 LOs have asthma, allergies and are constantly fighting colds. So no, formula and c section birth does not guarantee inferior health fuckyouverymuch.
I can't love this response enough!

I am the only formula feeding/c-section mama in my "parent and infant group" I attend. I feel "out mothered" all the time. LO is growing wonderfully and is happy so I can't complain!

  • No one can out mother me! I'm on that shit like white on rice! Seriously though, I know this chick that can do no wrong when it comes to her kids and she lets the world know it. If I get one more lecture about all that I do "wrong" I might barf on her.
    Is she on this board???
Actually, she might be now that you mention it... she did have a kid in A13.

You sure Cali? Your initial reply doesn't seem to imply you took it as sarcasm.

Clearly a reading fail on your part. I know sarcasm, thanks for your concern though. Definitely didn't need you to point ANYTHING out to me.

  • Ugh, MIL let DH sleep on her chest every night, not because he wouldn't sleep on his own, but because she wanted him to feel loved! I do not have time for that shit! Thank GOD she BFed or no telling what I'd be dealing with!

My butt feels great, no hurting going on here, although that gif looks like it hurts. Cali annoys me...the feeling is mutual, whatevs.

Also, any Johnny Depp gif is welcome, at any time in my eyes.

Bahahahahaha mutual? Oh, please. You don't annoy me. I don't like you, period. It's not a secret. Every time you call me out, you do it often, I'll reply. If I annoy you...oh well. I really don't give a shit.

@lokilahve if you're going to say something is "mutual" when I'm involved get the wording right.

"Annoying" does not equal "dislike". I find many things annoying. You? Not so much.
