WDPT-racist or no

On the radio this morning they were talking about 2 of their interns. One Caucasian and one African American. The Caucasian was working and talking about going to a wing place and not liking it. He then asked the African American? intern if he knew where to get good wings (he is new in town). The African American said no and asked if he was racist. WDPT?

    I think thats a fucking ridiculous statement to make. The guy is new in town, for FFS. He could've asked anyone (of any ethnicity) and they wouldve known better than him where to get wings.

    Talk about somebody getting their panties in a bunch over nothing. LOL.

    Eta..wait, did I misread? Is the Caucasian man new in town or the African American man? Either way...my answer doesn't change. That's a presumptious question to ask based on a simple question of where to get wings.

    I personally don't see that as being racist.  All races of people eat chicken wings, if he were Asian and not African American would people have thought that was a racist question to ask?  Wait does make me racist?  LOL  

    We have a radio station here in Boston, and they have a station manager or whatever his title is, he happens to be gay and the dj call him Gay Jim, now I find that Racist.

    They had the 2 guys talking so not the whole time, but they did use those terms.

    The white guy is the new on town intern.

    Also turns out the black Guy knew the other intern would freak out so he did it on purpose and kept it going. He just confessed to it. People irritate me

    Our local wing places are always filled with white people. I would never assume that a black person would know better than any other race. If he had asked about fried chicken...I wouldn't have thought anything, but that is sometimes portrayed as a racial stereotype.

    @mbenit4 no one else in the room. But even if there was another person in there he didn't ask I wouldn't assume he asked because of race. Maybe that person was right next to him.
