So I'm close to 35 weeks and in my last semester of school. I stopped attending class about a month ago because it's over an hour drive and I have pain from spd. Not to mention I could no longer fit in the desks. I've done all the work up to this point except for a presentation and exam which is a take home one. She is being difficult about my attendance knowing that I'm this far along and we talked about this in the beginning of the semester. Now she wants me to come in and do the presentation the first week of December even though I'm not to travel after 36 weeks. I'm considering taking an incomplete if possible but this is causing a lot of stress and anxiety.
Re: Issues with school professor
I would also ask yourself is it really worth it to pay to take the class over again and do all the work over again just because you don't feel like going in for a presentation.
On a side note my daily commute is over 45 minutes each way and I personally would not consider anything less than 2 hours one way to be "travel".
I practice what I preach here too. A medical emergency caused me drop out of two classes in college. I never thought of going to the profs and asking them to bend rules around me. It was my personal circumstances that caused me to miss critical class dates. It happens.
Do you have a special condition that prevents you from driving an hour? As PP said, I don't think that's the 'travel' OBs are referring to when they say you can't 'travel' after 38 weeks. When you stopped attending a month ago, did your teacher tell you that you were excused for the rest of the course? I was able to receive an incomplete for a class I took in the first trimester but that's because I notified my teacher prior to even being seen at the ER at the first sign of a complication. She gave me my options immediately and I communicated with her daily until all of her requirements were completed. I understand it can be frustrating, but if it's important to you I would think you could suck it up and get it done. Even if you have to attend your last few classes and project.

1hour drive, 1-2 hour class, 1 hour drive back. You'll have to suck it up for, at the most, 4 hours. Just do it. This is a non-issue.
I would have loved to see the face of my boss/ hr dept if I told them, sorry I can't commute to work anymore, my doc says no travel after 36 weeks. Lolz!
Sorry to be so blunt I am finding that I am calling it like I see it at this stage of pregnancy.
100% this! I commute over 45 minutes each way every day and have to put in at least 8 hours of work! I am currently 34 weeks pregnant and I will be continuing this pattern until I go into labor which is normal in the real world! At most some women will take off a week before their due date.
If my daily workload consisted of a total of 2 hours of commuting, 30 minute presentation (most likely less), 1.5 - 2 hours of just sitting there I would be the happiest pregnant woman ever! I would do this everyday with the biggest smile on my face!!!
