Question: Social Security Cards

So DD is 1 month old today and we still haven't received her SS card. I verified with the hospital that we filled all the paperwork out properly, so that's not the issue.

Anyone else having this problem?

We got ours a couple weeks after they were born.

Got ours in about two weeks. I think it also has to do with when your hospital processed it, same with birth cert.

Not sure, ours took about 10 days. I'd call the Social Security Office and see if they can tell you anything.

I heard that the SS administration issues all of them at the same time each month, and that's at the end of the month. My DH had called worried about needing it for insurance and that's what they told us.

Not sure about other states, but in IN you get the social security card but have to apply and pay for the birth certificate.

LO is just over a month old and we still don't have hers. I looked at our paperwork from the hospital and it says it normally takes six weeks to arrive.

Same with the birth certificate here which I didn't know til I signed him up for daycare & they said they needed it. I was waiting & waiting for it to come. We got his ss card in about 2 weeks though but he was born before the government shutdown crap.
