Peeing question, need some advice

Apparently last night my bladder decided to get a mind of it's own.  I have been dribbling non stop.  Luckily I wear a very absorbent panty liner thinking that something like this could possibly happen.  This morning the liner was soaked.  Like, I could have rung the dang thing out!  I am working half days (8-12) so obviously put a new liner on this morning.  By 10 it was soaked.  It's just a little drip-drip-drip type leak, but it's constant.  If I'm sitting and stand, I feel a bit more come out.

Any idea why?  I mean, is it just that one of the boys is sitting on my bladder funny, will it be like this until they're born?  I do know that some incontinence is common, which is why I've been doing my Kegal exercises, but this was literally all of a sudden, overnight.

So, do I buy some of those Poise type things they show on tv for bladder leakage, do I hope this goes away, do I buy adult diapers...I'm at a loss in a way.  I did hear from someone (maybe on here) that the Poise pads work great for after the babies are here, for the blood loss.  Maybe I should get some for the bladder leakage AND the postpartum bleeding?  I just need some advice.  What I'm doing now isn't working so well.

And thanks for letting me ask such an embarrassing question! :)

  • I would call your dr immediately - this does not sound right, and I have had two bladder infections and two UTIs. I don't know how far along you are but could you be in labor/water breaking? That was my first thought reading this and having read birth stories.

  • When I lost my twins I had initially thought I was peeing myself. I was using pads and everything until I finally decided it couldn't be urine as I'd just emptied my bladder when I felt a gush. Sure enough it was amniotic fluid. It has a different smell than urine. Almost a sweet smell, but it does sound like you're not peeing yourself and that you probably need to take yourself to the doctor. Or at the very least give them a call.

  • Definitely sounds like your water broke. Good luck!!
  • And update us after!
  • I wonder what happen!? I hope she comes back and updates us!
  • I agree. Sounds like your waters. When mine broke it felt like I was peeing because each time more came out it put pressure on my bladder. I dont feel contraction ( didnt with my first and didnt with these boys) so I never knew I was in labor with my first and with the twins I again got lucky and never felt a single one even though they were every 2 mins on the monitor and strong! Update us when you find out!

I hope all is okay! With DD I woke up in the middle of the night with a weird feeling and then had a gush of warm liquid. I literally laid in bed for like 10 minutes trying to decide if I had just peed myself or if my water broke before I decided it had to be my water breaking and woke up my husband. Please let us know how it turned out for you. Always better to be safe than sorry IMO
