Re: **3rd Party Reproduction Check-In** (Nov. 17th)

  • I'm going to reply right away because tomorrow may get away from me at work.

I had my suppression check this week on Wednesday and all went well! No cysts, so we are a go for the Dec. 5th FET assuming no lining issues. I started patches and have a blood draw Wednesday and then an u/s and blood draw the day before Thanksgiving.

Lots of luck to everyone in the TWW and transferring soon!

QOTW: I learned to like Christmas in my 30's - so we do put up a live tree and decorate the house. I keep my eyes out for vintage decorations and have a little batch of those. Our tree is a lot of ornaments from our childhoods and our travels as a couple. It's fun and very 'us.' I host Christmas eve and always make my Cranberry Braised Pork Shoulder, brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes, with Christmas cookies for dessert.

Last year I was pregnant at Christmastime :( - I'm a little nervous about how the season will go for me BFN or BFP, I think it'll be a little hard but I'm still looking forward to it.

  • So good to see so many positive updates this week!!!!

AFM: It looks like we have my BP back under control again!!!  Had my 32 week appointment this morning and had a growth ultrasound. Our little man is finally head down which was such a relief as we were getting anxious about him being breech for so long. Hopefully he stays that way!  He is also measuring about 2 weeks ahead and is estimated to be 4 lbs, 12 oz already. He is going to be one big baby!

QOTD: We usually put our tree up the day after Thanksgiving, then Christmas Eve is with my family, and Christmas Day with DH's family. This year, though, we are just going to be staying home and having a peaceful holiday to ourselves since I am on bed rest, and we don't really want to be traveling that close to my due date.
  • Check in - Ha just checked in for last week, so everything is the same here.
    QOTW
: We celebrate Christmas.  With my mom's side of the family we celebrate at Thanksgiving.  We usually do a "white" elephant gift exchange, but the gifts are new and useful.  We do a draw and fight type of thing to get the presents.  Like one person chooses then you can steal from them. It's always rowdy and fun.  Since I've been married we always go to my in-laws for Christmas eve and Christmas morning.  Christmas is very big in their family, and since we are always with my family for Thanksgiving, we are always with his family for Christmas.  His family currently has 9 grandchildren, in addition to 12 adults, plus there are always a few extra cousins, grand-cousins and uncles that join us on Christmas morning.  It is, to say the least, a little bit crazy.  I've never really had a hard time with Christmas or with spending time with the kids in my husband's (or my) family.  I figure that my SILs and brother have children before me (or instead of me) was just how life "was meant to be".  For me, other holidays were always harder, like Mother's Day, and even Grandparent's Day.  It's a blessing to be able to celebrate and enjoy the holiday season.

How is it going? Well how's it going? It's not going the way I had hoped. My cycles for the last 3 months have been way off. After m/c, that cycle was 24 days. Then almost back to regular, 26 days. Then this cycle only 16 days. My cycles are 27-28 days. I am confused, upset. Then I got labs back on heavy metals. I have high levels of lead and tin. Uuuugggghhhhh.

What are your next steps? My next step is to wait till December to cycle with meds again.

How are you feeling? Feeling angry, down, confused.

QOTW: Do you celebrate Christmas, if so, how? Traditions, decorations, etc. I love Christmas. It's one of my favorite holidays (I love Halloween to) I love to decorate. IDK if I will do my normal decorating this year. Not feeling really festive.

As for everyone else:  Good luck!  Seems like we have a lot going on right now!!!  That makes me happy.  It's hard to be in between cycles.

  • Good luck to those in 2ww and cycling soon and big warm hugs who need them. Jalara how exciting to be traveling!

QOTW: Christmas is one of my favorite holidays. I'm always sad when the Christmas music stops playing!  MH and I hold Christmas dinner at our house. We finally got smart and bought a pre-lit tree last year. I had no patience for putting the lights on.

When I was younger my family and I would also celebrate Christmas Jan 7th since we were Serbian Orthodox. With everyone getting older and moving away we don't do those traditions anymore except go to church. I miss that!

    ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

  • Congrats to Stinkerbell & good luck to those in the TWW!

2mamaz: FX that your checks continue to look good and you are able to move forward with your transfer.

LittleLady: Congratulations on your b/g twins!

Jalara: Wishing you the very best!!

McIrish: Hooray on finding a donor!!  GL with your upcoming cycle!!

Argyle: I cannot express to you how amazing of person you are.  The gift you have given your IP's is priceless!  I have had two people very close to me offer to donate, and both backed out. For you to donate to a complete strangers is an amazing gift!  Thank you!!

lincoln: Good luck with your meeting. I hope everything goes smoothly.

DP: GL with your upcoming cycle!  I am always on the sidelines routing for you!!

jms: Glad to hear your BP is under control and that your little guy is doing well!

Liz:  GL tomorrow!!  I am always on the sidelines routing for you!!

    Sunni01 ((huge hugs))

Firesiren: Fingers crossed your embies thaw!!

AFM:  I had my sonohysterogram last week. All looks good in the ute! While I was there I talked with my RE regarding concerns I have. No one has been able to tell me the "Why" I have DOR at such a young age.  Could this be autoimmune?  Everything else I have tested to help figure out the why has been normal (Karyotype, neg for fragile x, etc.)  My concern was/is if the cause is autoimmune be more likely to miscarry? She said the why matters in relation to long term health, but it will not increase my risk for miscarriage.  So she sent me to have labs drawn to see if I have anti-ovarian, anti-adrenal and anti-thyroid antibodies in order to give me answers and possibly prevent/manage future health problems associated with autoimmune disease.

QOTW:  Christmas has always been one of my favorite holidays.  When IF struck it has made Christmas difficult for me to enjoy. I have always felt it's about being and celebrating family, and without children of our own it doesn't feel magical like it once felt.  The last two years DH has made me put up decorations with the intentions to brighten up my mood.  I hope to be in better spirits this year.  It has to be better right?

@liz4paws - Your house looks great!

Update for check-in list: Our DD is now 2.

General update: We are all adjusting to the baby and overall doing well. I go back to work on Thursday.

QOTW: I had a a few really sad Christmases in there, so couples still going through IF are on my mind this time of year - I know how hard it can be. I definitely appreciate the holidays more now after going through those times.  Decoration wise, I've been lazy the last few years, but we are definitely going to get a tree this year, and I am looking forward to that.  We usually go to my parents' house for Christmas, but I won't have enough time off this year to make the trip, so we they are coming here and we will have Christmas Eve at my sister's house who also lives here.

  • Good luck to everyone with transfers this week and fingers crossed for all those in the 2ww.

I had my consult with RBA yesterday and it went great.  I hope to have access to the egg bank within a week and then the plan would be to hopefully transfer in January.

QOTW:  I love Christmas time but hate that it comes so early these days.  I'm one who holds out decorating until after Thanksgiving.  It is much harder this year since Thanksgiving is late, maybe I'll start next weekend :)

9/15/14 - Our first son born thanks to donor eggs at RBA after 7 failed own egg IVF cycles.
  • Hi, everyone!  Just chilling, waiting for my ultrasound next Monday, trying not to freak out over the fact that my symptoms are fairly mild -- no nausea, etc.  The US will be the moment of truth.  Yikes.

Xmas:  I used to not do much, because DH and I usually travel back to our families' for the holidays.  But last year I got a small tree, and I think I'll do that again.  I like the smell and it makes me happy.  :-)

  • Hi ladies!  I'm doing well.....going insane waiting for 11/26 but I've got a busy week since it's my birthday week!  Keep your fingers crossed!

Our Christmas traditions are new to us since this will only be our 3rd together, although we're both usually working and don't get to spend it together.  So I'll just say what we do for Thanksgiving since it's my favorite holiday...I LOVE cooking so I'm making a turkey, cranberry and apple stuffing, green bean casserole and garlic sour cream mashed potatoes.  We'll decorate the tree on the next night we have off work together and while doing so we have hot chocolate and listen to Christmas music.  We pick out a new ornament that matches our experience throughout the year and cuddle on the couch to a Christmas movie.
  • Hi ladies,

Sorry for the late check-in, but I'm happy to hear that activity is picking up for many as we near the end of this year.

Stinkerbell - I'm hoping and praying that things continue moving in the right direction!!

Liz and Firesiren - Best of luck with your transfers this week!!!

Also, sending super sticky vibes to those in the 2ww and as always, ((HUGS)) to anyone that needs them!

AFM, I finished taking Provera the other day and am (impatiently) waiting for AF to show her ugly face!!  This is me watching the clock, LOL.  8-|

QOTW:  DH and I have a tradition of celebrating Christmas Eve with my family and then going to midnight mass.  On Christmas Day, we celebrate with his family.  We enjoying decorating the house, etc. but I tell you I can't wait to be able to FINALLY send out Christmas cards with a picture of a human baby, instead of just our fur baby!  And to start new traditions with our children as well. F/X that we will get our miracle in the New Year.

  • Hello ladies,
Sorry I have been MIA- just lurking mostly and feeling a little bit sorry for myself and the other bad news that hit this board recently. Big Hugs to all of those I missed. I'm glad to see that some of us were able to have some luck recently and I'm truly hoping that all the rest of us only find luck from here on- (ok, I know thats probably unlikely, but it's what I wish for us)
It looks like we are going to be doing the IUI next cycle (around X-Mas week). We decided that by the time we save up for donor eggs it won't be worth keeping dh's sperm stored for that long. (Yes- I am pretty sure this IUI won't work, but I need to know I tried everything before we stop using my eggs). Anyway, we decided to use 75% donor sperm and one vial of dh's sperm mixed in- this way we'll never know which one worked. I'm so ok with living in denial and pretending that it would be dh's sperm that worked, if I'm lucky enough to be successful. We have an appt with the RE tomorrow. I don't know why we need another appointment before starting- oh well.
I also made an appt with Dr. Kwak-Kim for February- so if things don't work out, at least I'll have someone else trying to figure out what the heck is going on with me.

QOTW: I love Christmas and especially decorating. We don't see family for the holidays really- but it's nice to have the house festive, even if it's just for us. I love themes. My upstairs is bright and glittery with gingerbread and if I trusted the dogs I'd decorate downstairs with a woodland rustic theme. My big tradition is putting bows on everything. You can never be too festive. I've already warned the dogs not to stay still for too long..

  • Hi ladies!

GL to Liz and Firesiren!!! Hope the 2ww goes quickly for you! Big hugs to stinkerbell...and to everyone else who needs them right now.

Well, I had my weekly OB appt yesterday at 37 weeks. Usually my appts are pretty boring and routine..pee in the cup, take the measurements and weight and send me on my merry way (not that I'm complaining, I'll take boring over stressful any day!)  Dr decided to do an internal exam yesterday and it turns out I'm beginning to dilate and cervix is already 75% effaced. I was pretty surprised! She said the head is very low and I've been cramping from time to time so it looks like I am on track to deliver within the next couple of weeks. We will just have to wait & see what baby decides. Very exciting and nerve-wracking at the same time! :) But, I am so ready to meet this little guy!

    TTC since June 2011
DX: DH (30) severe MFI, severely low count & low motility
    Me (32): all clear
Appt with Urologist 5/21/12: exam, ultrasound, bloodwork all normal.
Testicular Biopsy with TESE on 6/8/12. good sperm found! (left side only) froze sperm, failed thaw test :(
Orientation for IVF/ICSI on 6/13/12. Waiting for the green light following biopsy results...results show adequate sperm production both sides.
2nd SA 6/18/12: sample is "adequate for ICSI"
    Plan: IVF/ICSI July 2012!
ER: 7/26/12. 15 eggs retrieved, all mature.
TESE/TESA/aspiration from epididymis, no motile sperm found :(
froze all eggs, the saga of praying for good sperm continues.
8/3/12: 2nd opinion from MFI uro on biopsy slides. Suspects "partial late maturation arrest."
Plan: more SAs, third biopsy/TESE with frozen back-up either from DH or DS.
    SA 8/17/12: Zero sperm
    SA 8/23/12: Zero sperm
9/26/12: SPERM FOUND! 15 eggs thawed, 12 survived and were ICSI'd, only 3 fertilized normally. Refrozen as embies and will thaw in Nov. Please survive and grow!
All 3 survived the thaw on 11/15/12!
    FET 11/17/12: transferred 2, one 4B, one 4C. Beta 11/30:BFFN
    moving on to DS
DIUI#1 2/18/13,50mg Clomid cd 3-7, Ovidrel trigger, Beta 3/4/13: BFN.
    DIUI#2 3/19/13, 50 mg Clomid cd 3-7, Ovidrel trigger, Beta #1 (14dpiui) 4/2/13: BFP!!!! 150. Beta #2 4/4/13: 420 Beta #3 4/8/13: 2691. Beta #4 4/15/13: 15,086
    1st u/s 4/8/13 shows one gestational sac
2nd u/s 4/15/13 shows yolk sac, fetal pole and early heartbeat
3rd u/s 4/25/13: measuring right on track. Heart rate 148 bpm

  • Hi ladies, GL to everyone cycling and (((hugs))) all around, looks like there's quite a few going through some rough patches.

Update: Still the same, I will probably call today to set up an appt for another blood drawn for the week of 12/2. That will be 12 weeks from my first positive blood test for Lupus Anticoagulant, and they require 2 tests 12 weeks apart to confirm it. If it's positive, then I will make an appt with a hematologist, and proceed probably with cycling using Lovenox. If it's negative, then we will still probably cycle, but have no answers for why I keep miscarrying.

QOTW: we do celebrate, mostly with my family. I have 2 older brothers and they will usually go to my parents' house, which is about 3 hours away, with all their kids. As for tradition, we always have Christmas Eve dinner at the same Chinese restaurant, my niece ALWAYS orders the pu-pu platter, just because it's funny to say, and then we always have a prime rib dinner on Christmas. It all revolves around eating!

  • I was out of town and away from the internet when the check-in went up but Manada checked in for the two of us.

Today we went into the clinic to start our IVF cycle. She is taking 2 estrace three times a day. I am taking one injection of 150 gonalf and 75 repronex daily at least until my next check on Monday. M did my injection this morning at the clinic and it was painless, which is nice.
I'm excited and terrified that this is starting!
    ****loss discussed*****

We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.

    Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.

    Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response

    IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
    BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255
    1st ultrasound (3/6  6w 1d): TWINS!!!! Twin A measuring 6w1d with a heartbeat of 118bpm. Twin B measuring 6w0d with a heartbeat of 113bpm.

***July 18, 2014 we lost our beautiful babies at 21 weeks gestation. They were born too early. Tavin Sara T. and Casey Elizabeth T. are beautiful and precious and we will love them and miss them forever.***

    FET #1 December 2014
Intralipid infusion on Dec 10. Transfer of 1 day 3 nine-cell embryo into my uterus on Dec. 19. (acupuncture immediately before and after)
    BFP on Dec. 27; Beta 1 Jan 2 (14dp3dt): 665, Beta 2 Jan 4 (16dp3dt): 1859, Beta 3 Jan 6 (18dp3dt): 4449, Beta 4 Jan 10 (22dp3dt): 12,251.
