ALTE-scary stuff

Finally checking in to report that LO has indeed arrived and we are soooo in love!
I'm hoping everyone else is doing fine and will have to do some reading to catch up.

I'm going to be a bit of a helicopter mom for awhile though.  Labor was pretty crazy---17+ hours, 2 hours of pushing then an emergency c-section.  I lost apparently 2 liters of blood and needed a transfusion.  LO was born under regional, but then originally had an apgar of 2 before suctioning (meconium) and I believe I intubation too. I had to be put under general anesthesia for repair apparently and it took quite awhile.

That WASN't the super scary part though.
We were home one day and went to the first pediatrician appointment and our little one had an ALTE (apparent life-threatening event)/apnea right in the office and the EMT's had to be called to take her to the emergency room.  She spent 3 days in the PICU.  Broke my heart all the tests she had to undergo.  The only thing I could say was thank goodness it happened in the office at least and not at home.
