Coxsackie

After dealing with "teething" all weekend, LO woke up with red bumps covering his body (and I mean wake up from his 1 hour of sleep last night). We went to the dr and he has coxsackie which is going around daycare. There's nothing you can do and he is absolutely miserable. Here's to another sleepless night.... :( poor little man

Re: Coxsackie

  • Poor guy. We had it go around our center last month. Somehow LO miraculously didn't catch it. Hoping for a quick case of it.

  • We had it was few weeks ago. It was like having a newborn again. I caught it too. Be careful! It's crazy contagious!!

  • Yes I'll keep him out all week to be safe. We've been up every hour since 6:30. Heading for the couch now to see if some snuggle sleeping will help. :-S

  • UGH! someone at LO's daycare just came down with this last week. The parents have been so non-chalant about it. It happened on the baby's last day of daycare - and they did not even call the center to give them a heads up. I only found out b/c we have mutual friends.... I'm terrified DD will get it.

    FX for a speedy recovery.

  • Technically there is no exclusion for coxsackies or HFMD beyond the fever. Some children don't even get the fever so they never actually have to stay at home for it. It's wonderful that you are able to stay home with him, especially if he's so miserable.

  • No fever today but the blisters on his face look terrible. It's very sad. I stayed with him today, my MIL is staying with him tomorrow and Thursday and my husband is staying with him Friday. The dr thought he would be ok by Friday but I know he won't look ok and don't feel like dealing with the dirty looks from other parents. And what's one extra snuggle day with dad :)
