We have 3 dogs and LO has formed a special bond with our smallest. She likes all three, but her and our mini doxie are ALWAYS together. I even got him a little bed for her nursery to keep him happy when she was newborn and nursing so much (he used to always be with me). He's given up his nice plush crate for nighttime sleeping and now sleeps in her room all night with her. I love it.
An Irish wolfhound? Holy moly those guys are big! If we decide on a dog, we will likely go with Welsh corgis. I love them Very high energy though, not for everyone.
TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!
Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!
Yeah they are huge! I loove big animals. I wish they lived longer though. I was deciding on that or a Giant Malamute, but I would rather not having to comb hair all day every day. Big dogs are so expensive too! Corgis are cute, one of the small breeds I can tolerate.
Corgis aren't as small as they look! They'd be mid-sized dogs if they weren't so short
My mom was deciding between an Irish wolfhound and a corgi when we were talking about getting a new dog when I was in high school. We all voted on the corgi. I love the big dogs too, but you are right, they don't live too long
I hate brushing frequently, so I don't blame you for picking one that's a little lower maintenance. I had manx cats and they need frequent brushing despite being short haired. They have a wicked undercoat. And shed like crazy! My domestic short hair never needs to be brushed and sheds, but not as bad.
