Poll: Holiday formal attire

So it's that time of the year again when we get dolled up for festive occasions. I'm just curious where you ladies are having luck finding festive formal attire? I loved the outfits at my local joint A Pea in the Pod/Destination Maternity shop but the prices were a little high for my liking.

Online, department store, boutiques, etc. Where are you finding affordable outfits?

What are you wearing this season? Dresses? Pants w/ a top? Skirts?

Re: Poll: Holiday formal attire

  • Target. I'll wear jeans and a nice shirt. My family is pretty casual.

  • If I had a formal event to go to I would try Mine for Nine.  My firends have had great luck with rent the runway and this is similar except with maternity!

  • Great ideas! Thanks
  • Motherhood Maternity is having an online sale, buy 3 shirts get the fourth free. I have a few occasions to dress up for, so I bought some really nice blouses. I'm usually a dress wearer, but I'm not in the mood.

  • I found a site that I just ordered a dress from for a holiday party - they have a pretty good selection and a good range of prices: www.asos.com.

  • I also recommend asos.com. Got a lovely lace dress that I will be wearing to my friend's wedding in mid-December @ 24 weeks. Very reasonable prices, and the dresses are INCREDIBLE.
3 early losses in 2013, but so thankful that our first baby boy is due 3/29/14! <3

  • I think we're substitute-hosting a cousin's Christmas Eve open house, so I'm going to need something. I'm thinking of going with skinny jeans, since I'll be running all over the house as host, and pair it with a fun sweater of some kind, something blingy or fancy to look more dressy but something I could wear again when it's not the holidays.

It’s not that I don’t like you, it’s that I don’t know you. Stranger Danger.
  • I found a ton of stuff at Due Maternity (online www.duematernity.com)...a little pricy but not much more than I would have spent for a dress when I am not pregnant. I found a great dress that will work for Christmas cards and DH's company party
  • For my family Christmas, I'm just going to wear jeans and a sweater.  For DH's work Christmas party, I bought this dress: https://www.motherhood.com/Product.asp?Product_Id=963890022&MasterCategory_Id=MC3

I just bought 4 basic dresses at Old Navy online for under $60. hopefully they'll arrive by Thanksgiving. I'll pair it with either sequin top or those cute tribal open cardigans
