DS woke up from his nap completely stuffed and choking on his snot. Doc says it's OK just a cold. How do I get through this without panicking because the choking is killing me.
Seeing our babes sick is hard- DD just got over her 2nd cold and she was miserable
Hav suggested and I found it to be AMAZING is the nose frida- I bought one last time DD was sick- it sucked snot out of her face like no other. Helped her breathe!
Also warm baths - after his bath while you are drying him put your shower on hot, close the door and sit in the steam.
Also putting a pillow under his mattress to elevate him- will help with the gagging on snot part.
So sorry! Hope he feels better fast! Lots of water and OJ!
Try saline nose drops and a good suction. If you are breastfeeding, you can also use breast milk. It also helps to prop them up when feeding. We would also use a pillow (underneath) her crib mattress to help elevate her head at night. If you have a humidifier use that. Oh and lastly, lots if snuggles

I second everything that has been mentioned. I also swear by Vick's vapor rub (they make a baby version) on babies feet. It seems to help with congestion and coughing.
After 15 cycles and 3 rounds of clomid (50mg) we got our BFP.
DS had his first cold about a month ago and it totally sucked. He had a lot of trouble nursing because he was so congested, and I was actually starting to worry whether he was eating enough. So I just want to say I feel your pain, it's awful.
Anyway, he wouldn't let me anywhere near his nose with an aspirator or anything else, he would just completely freak out and start crying, which only made the congestion worse. I ended up getting him an infant cold medicine from the pharmacy, it still lasted a good week, though.
Steamy shower, humidifier going 24/7, vicks on feet with socks covering or in a scentscy warmer with a little water, saline drops, nose sucker, lots of cuddles, tylenol if needed, elevated bed, if over 3 months vicks on chest. Good luck! Colds are evil!! I think I'm missing something but I can't remember ...
