June 2013 Moms

Know what's hard?

Realizing you're not what you once were.  About a year ago an intern emailed me "Dear. Mrs. XYZ..."  I told DH "He wrote it like I'm old! Just wait until he meets me and realizes I'm young."  DH slid his eyes toward me and said "Um, you think the intern is going to think you're YOUNG?  Hon, no.  You're old as fuck."

Second example?  A fine ass man apparently just started in my department and appeared at my desk a few minutes ago.  There was a time when I could have thought he'd walk away thinking "She's cute" and happily married as I am, that thought was nice :)  Now?  He walked away thinking probably nothing or if he really had to have SOME thought it would be "That's a mom right there.  Million pictures of her kids, shoving her face with Doritos and brushing the crumbs off her jiggly post partum belly."  Le sigh lol  Maybe if I'm lucky a crumb landed on my rack, which is my best feature, currently ;)

  • I feel like this all the time now!!! I can't believe I'm finally old. My husband is 7 years older than me though... So he's REALLY old hahaha or that's what I keep telling myself
  • Ugh ALL of H's friends (who are over 30) hang out with 21 year olds...I'm only 28 but with being married and having 2 kids they make me feel ancient

  • When my brother first told his girlfriend (now wife) how old I was she responded with, "she's old!.........er."

  • I hear ya. The thing is this is the very thing that motivates me to work out and get my pre baby body back. My husband always tells me I'm a MILF. Lol. Maybe others will think so too one day? Ha!
  • You people and your filthy minds.  We're a board full of mothers which, by definition, is hard and you pervs go right to the gutter  [-X

Um yeah. H and I have started referring to college students as "kids," like old farts. Because seriously...they were 8 years old when we were in college.

And I'm also all GET OFF MY LAWN all of a sudden. Loud music bugs me and stuff.

Ditto the calling college kids "kids". I get all irritated when I'm at the mall on a Friday night trying to make my way through the crowds of teenagers cursing them under my breath. "WHERE ARE YOUR PARENTS?!?"

  • I feel old when I shop in stores where the music is loud. Not that long ago *ahem* I never noticed the loud volume. Now I am all..."damn music is going to wake my baby."
  • I'm only 22 but I feel "old" I'm in total wife and mother mode. My friends call and unless they have LOs I have no interest. All I ever talk about is Freyja did this and that and "oooo did you see that new thing going around Pinterest?!" I'm so boring now. I've lost touch with people and it doesn't even bother me.
