how long does gentian violet stain?

DDs mouth area was bright purple after nursing off my treated nipple. Now the entire area around her mouth is stained. It's lighter already, but definitely purple.

After almost 3 years of IF and a crazy roadside delivery, we are loving life with our second beautiful daughter! Lilypie First Birthday tickers

    It only lasted a few days for me. But after I seen how stained her face was after the first feeding, I started putting lanolin cream around the outside if her mouth so it wouldn't stain more. I highly recommend that. Or vasaline.

    Thanks! Naturally I caught her first on camera smile post feed with the gentian violet. Glad it should be gone by the weekend!

    I slathered DS with lanolin before feeding when I put on GV.  It still stained him for a day or two.
