Aquarium fail.

Well, I went ahead and got the FP aquarium soother. DD is terrified of it. Awesome. That was $75 wasted.

I don't know how much longer I can go on 4 hours of broken sleep. I'm going to rip my effin hair out. This is so frustrating.

That is all.

Re: Aquarium fail.

  • I am so sorry :( Did you keep the box? You can probably return it.

Lack of sleep has to be the single most difficult thing about parenting. It's just something you never really get used to. Has it been like this the whole time? Or is the wakefulness a new thing?

  • Oh no. I'm frustrated for you! Can you return it and try the seahorse or glow worm?

Yes I did, I'm going to try it a few more times and then I'll probably return it. She used to be an awesome sleeper but for the last 2 months its become worse and worse with each passing week.

I'm really sorry :( I'm there with you- LO sttn early on but the last 2 months she wakes at least once, sometimes several times a night.

  • Oh no! I was definitely a pusher of this product! LO loves it...  :(

What do you think she is afraid of? Did you try the different settings? You can either have the music, lights and bubbles going at once or you can turn any of those settings off. We just turned off the bubble setting cause we realized it wasn't necessary and have noticed a huge improvement in the battery usage.

Maybe try just the lights first? then add bubbles? then the music (on the lowest volume)? ...

oh no! we have the baby einstein one, which I'm guessing has similar settings. When we first got it, we started with just the ocean sounds and only recently started turning on the lights/moving parts. If the fisher price one doesn't work, maybe try the baby einstein one instead?

This is how J is with his mobile. The glowworm, however, now that thing is magic! I think it's because it just sits there and doesn't move...

I'm going to try to get her acquainted with it during the day. Hopefully that helps. I have it just playing the music right now and she is babbling to herself so that's a start!

ETA: just kidding that lasted 5 mins and then she was screaming again...

Between 7pm and 7am she is typically up about 5-6 times. Ugh.

  • That sucks. My LO loves his. He does like to turn it on and off like Elizabeth said but it does put him to sleep. Hopefully you can return it.

  • Booo.  Lack of sleep is no joke.  I may get side eyed but I gotta go with what works....  We use an ipod touch.  A workout armband is tethering it to the crib.  I play youtube vidoes.  She has two that she loves.  One is 2 hours of lullabies with these bubbles.  The other one I search "infant" and it is the first thing that comes up.  It's high contrast patterns or something.  The aquarium was too pricey for me to risk that she wouldn't like it.

I'd put a Movember mustache fail, but then
you'd all have to look at it until February.

G is no longer soothed by his projector, and instead likes to lift the bottom edge away from the crib side, and then let go and let it slam back down. Over and over and over.

That's genius! Good thinking on the armband. My kid loves the iPhone and iPad. We watch a little iPad before bed to unwind.

Btw, did you see my PM? You weren't around much when I sent it. :)
