sensitive diapers

Since Maddie is so sensitive and prone to diaper rashes, we have switched to a mix of Pampers Swaddlers sensitive and Honest Company (although honest company I think has changed theirs up a little and i don't like them quite as well).

I know cloth would be ideal with her sensitivity, but I know MIL will bitch and moan and probably still put her in disposables.  Anyone have any suggestions for any other disposables for sensitive bums?  I'm pretty happy with the sensitive swaddlers, but am open to other (especially cheaper) suggestions.

Re: sensitive diapers

  • We're using Naty https://www.naty.com and LOVE them. We started off cloth diapering and stuck with it for the first three and a half months, but B hated it and would scream every time we changed her diaper. I think she didn't like her legs having to be so spread apart all the time by the bulk of the cloth...dunno, but I had no alternative plan. She was in Seventh Generation disposables for a few days, but broke out in a rash. I think she really needs the breathability of cloth, but without the bulk. Which brings me to Naty. They're made from corn - no plastics - so they are much more breathable than your typical disposable (and biodegradable if that's something you care about). They're also entirely free of bleaches, fragrance, etc. We get ours from diapers.com, but you can also get them on Amazon. Good luck!

  • I use pampers sensitive when DD gets a rash, and I also stray away from wipes. Try using a wet washcloth to wipe her tushy.
  • Cloth all the way! We use Flip covers and inserts 99% of the time. So easy.

  • I second using coconut oil rather than traditional diaper rash cream.

And for what it's worth, cloth diapers have come a long way. They are super easy to use and I bet your mil might not mind once she tried them. PM me if you want more information. No pressure!

We switched from pampers swaddlers sensitive to cloth about 2 months ago, haven't had a rash or issue since. I use mostly pockets so they are easy to put on and easy to wash. Even when using the pampers sensitive we would still have to use diaper rash cream and still got rashes about once every 2 weeks. Also, the cloth diapers have already paid for themselves with what the cost of disposables would have been.
