Has anyone been? It's a short and inexpensive flight for us, and we are considering going with Kate for a long weekend. But I would like for her to be able to enjoy Nickelodeon Universe, a theme park in the mall. I think she might be too young for the majority of it, though I did see that they offer Toddler Tuesdays. Thoughts on the whole experience with a young toddler? Should we wait until she's a little older? I don't want to pay for flights & hotel only to end up spending the majority of the time at the hotel. We were thinking of going in January.

    January in Minneapolis may be the worst place on earth. My ex boyfriend went to school there so I was a frequent visitor. We will go directly from the airport to the hotel, which is right by the mall-connected, I think-and not set foot outside until we go back to the airport again.

    I haven't been to MOA with DS yet but I think you guys would have fun. I haven't been to Nick Universe (went back in the Camp Snoopy days) but I think you would find a lot to stay entertained with! It is packed full of different things. The mall also has an aquarium that you could check out as well and I think they recently renovated Legoland which I loved seeing as a kiddo. Just avoid the MOA on the weekend if possible...it is madness there on a Saturday! If you are looking at hotels, check out the Waterpark of America hotel. I know people love it there because of the waterpark so you could have fun there as well without going in to the cold!

    I live in MN, and I HATE the Mall of America.  But that's probably because I live here.  I think you would have a ton of fun there with your LO.  Definitely check out the aquarium.  And definitely avoid the mall on a weekend....it is a zoo.  Mainly the parking lot is a zoo.  If you are taking a shuttle from the hotel to the MOA, then it shouldn't be too terrible.

    MN in January/February is frigid.  So dress accordingly!

    I also live in MN and I agree with all of the above!! Definitely don't go on a weekend.
