Well, the cube is $70+ dollars, I am going to get some clothes.. some more play blocks. I would easily spend $150, but I am trying to get this stuff on black friday. Yay, now I have a reason to wait in the middle of the night to go shopping!
Most of DD's gifts will be hand-me-downs from her brother. I'll have to wrap some stuff up from Santa so DS doesn't get suspicious. I bought DD one thing so far for her room and that will probably be it for gifts actually purchased.
I wanted to say the sky is the limit (not to go crazy but to buy whatever I want). Unfortunately, money is tight right now so we will get just a few things. I know she won't remember but we really don't have too many toys yet & there are some fun ones I want. But I know my family will spoil her

We're getting the cube too!
What cube? The zany zoo by chance? If so, I got it on sale at Target for $40-something.

Between $100-150. Her gift from Santa is $80. From us $20. And her stocking between $20-40. We did not do this for DSs first Christmas. This is the first year we are doing stockings actually! DS is very aware of what's going on this year!!
Not much at all. We have eleventy billion toys already. I'm thinking we will buy her convertible carseat and call that her Christmas gift. Ava is getting a bike. Poor Mila.
eta- not really poor Mila....our families go way overboard for both kids. I actually put many of the toys away and pull them out throughout the year.
Ethan has about 20 toys in his Christmas closet. I coupon so I have only spent a little under a 100 but I keep seeing toys I think he should have, I bought him a baby drum set today and I realized that I have a problem lol
I was lucky and found one of those cubes for 7 bucks at a resale shop. It's not a huge one, but it's nice. I'm almost done shopping for him! I have a winter coat, a couple more pieces of clothes from thrift shops, 2 books, a walking push/collapsable table toy, and some blocks. It's about $100 which is usually what we spend on each other so that's pretty fair. We are also buying a carseat but I don't count that.
As little as possible. It would literally be zero except a) we're going to Florida with DH's family, and DH wants to buy everything there instead of taking presents with us, b) it would probably ruin the whole Santa thing for his cousins/big sisters if he got nothing, and c) he doesn't need a thing because people keep buying him gifts for no reason.
I'm sure I'll end up buying him some stuff, but I won't be spending a fortune on any of my kids.

I put $200-$300 but one of his presents is a convertible car seat which we would have had I get him anyway. Otherwise I spent about $65 dollars on him.

I had planned on only buying him a couple things which I had coupons for and only paid about $15 total. BUUUTTT.. I got some more coupons and well you can NOT have a coupon and not use it. You will piss off the coupons gods and would not want to do that.
I even have a few things tucked away for his birthday.
Does he need anything? no but I keep finding things I know he would have a lot of fun playing with.
I have spent roughly $100 but if I had bought them when not on sale and adding a coupon with it, it would be much closer to $300.

I seriously can't believe how expensive those cube things are. Holy moly.
Yeah, but I would assume the wooden ones could last for a while. At least the ones in some doctor offices look like they lasted 100 years and through Chernobyl and 20k children.
Definitely just a few--like two. You cannot even walk around our house without breaking your toe on a toy, even though they are somewhat confined to an area of the house. Between his grandparents and my 6 siblings, he will be good to go. I do not expect anyone to buy him anything but my family is very, very giving. I am doing a personalized ornament for him though and a Hallmark ornament. It's a tradition in our family and I would like to keep it up.
I am reusing a lot of the same gifts ds got for his first Christmas. They all look like new and they are the right developmental age since they are both April babies.
I haven't even started thinking about this or discussing with my husband. I like the "something you need, something to read, something you want, something you wear" idea.
I got a cube (the B Zany Zoo) and I want to get him a set of blocks. That will be it from us, but my parents are getting him a shape sorter and one other thing.

We're also getting LO an activity cube for Christmas.
I've been buying LO gently used toys through a local Facebook group, and I'm going to keep some of them to give at Christmas. We can't spend a lot this Christmas, so this is our best bet.
Compared to everyone else in this poll, I have lost my mind. This is not a humble brag, it is a reality check b/c I can not seem to put the brakes on!!
I chose $200-$300 but most of of that is for her new carseat. She will also get a used cube that I bought for $5 from a facebook yard sale page, the Three Sleepy Kitties book from Despicable Me, and 9 month clothes. I bought a sit to stand table but she was ready for it now so I went ahead and gave it to her. I was also going to buy a sit and stride but my mom had a used one she gave Ava this weekend. Her stocking will have some bubbles and some snacks. I'm sure she will enjoy the wrapping paper the most.
I was going to spend about 200 bucks until I texted my mother in law what I was buying and she told me not to because she already bought all of that stuff plus. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful, but cmon lady...I'd like to get something for my kid. So, I got two things and he can help us open our gifts.
Yes! I was recently deflated bc (without consulting us)- my MIL got the V-tech sit to stand toy. That was going to be LO's big "santa gift"- I had even just wrapped it the day I found out.
We are spending about $200. But a big chunk of that is for one of the pottery barn kid's chairs. We wanted to get one for her nursery but couldn't justify it when she was a tiny baby. Now she is getting to the point that she will use it so we just ordered her one. I have been taking pictures of other toys I want her to have (a walker, cube, shape sorter) and sending them to our family members as they ask what to get her.
LOVE these chairs! Which size chair did you pick? I cannot decide between the smallest and mid size (regular)? Also do you happen to know if the plush or sherpa is softer? (we do not have a store close by)
@ascott654 - we got the regular size one. The My First Anywhere chair that is the smallest is TINY. We did see them in the store so I was able to compare. I would guess that the plush is softer? But I am not positive. We went with the lavender mini dot, the rest of her nursery is all from pottery barn kids as well and she has baskets with the lavender mini dot liner so it will match. At first I wanted the sherpa or a plush, but I was afraid that it would get dirty and be harder to clean.
Thank you for the reply. That helps my decision as far as size. I love the lavender dot! and the Gingham! I cant seem to make my mind up. We have the daisy garden set from pottery barn so purple or pink will work...

Just get the regular size one. It's plenty big to grow into but not hard for a little one to climb into. I got my son his last christmas.

I have a couple other things from us, and then we'll have to do a stocking, but we're really trying not to buy too much this year.
