An anchor I got done for my son. I have a tattoo on each hip as well and neither of them stretched! I was planning a really large piece for my shoulder/upper arm right before we found out I was pregnant. I'm really sad I didn't get it done sooner now!
Not a very good picture but it was the best I could get. It's my latest one. I do have one on my hip that stretched but looks all right. We will see what it does this time around.
I've never taken pics of mine! I guess I'll have to someday lol I have 3 but wanting another one for my daughter and this upcoming baby! I have one on my lower stomach that I thought would stretch but it didn't, it's under my gut so that helps haha I didn't have a gut when I got it 7 years ago!
I have a few, but the ones people see the most of are, my owl chest piece with roses, my cinderella and prince, the castle, and my ariel 3/2 sleeve. I kinda went crazy this year, and told myself that I can't have anymore till feb 2014, well after baby is here and the boys (2 boys) will be in school. I dont think I have any pics, but if anyone wants to see let me know. I love my ink babies. (;
my tattoos didnt stretch,, well not permanently at least. haha. I have a large tattoo on my back (thats unfinished), one on my shoulder blade, one on my ankle, one on each wrist, one on each of the front part of my shoulders (like chest-ish but to the sides). I think thats it. for now. LOL 4 sparrows (two with hearts, two with awarness ribbons... one with a cancer ribbon and one with the autism ribbon), 3 butterflies, a couple of lotus flowers
Question for those of you with highly visible tattoos: do you find people looking at you differently because of them, especially if you're with your child? Ever feel like they've held you back career-wise? I feel ready to make the jump(after baby obviously) to get larger more visible pieces, but am always curious to hear others experiences with it.

I live in Northern CA and I guess its so common here that I dont see that. I have a bunch of visible tattoos and also have purple hair... well purple ombre... I used to have full pink highlights, then went to pink ombre, then went to purple in May because my grandpa (who I was VERY close with.. he was one of my best friends!) got diagnosed with terminal cancer and purple is for cancer. Right after my grandpa died, I got diagnosed with stage 1 cancer.. just had my surgery early August. I am very activley involved in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in this area so its my every day encouragment to fight back.
I have four. I have the word Dance on my foot with stars. I have a shamrock with the Italian flag colors on the back of my neck. I have a celtic cross on my right hip. As of a month ago, I have a Celtic motherhood knot on my left wrist.

I've only gotten compliments on mine, but I don't have huge flashy ones really.
I wonder if I will get side eyed next summer when I have a huge belly and wearing shorts and a tank that show off all my tattoos....

Tattoos are so popular now it seems unique/unusual if you don't have them. I can't imagine anyone getting a sideways glance for having tattoos (but, I do live in Los Angeles). When I was in college, I worked a job where you wouldn't be hired if you had visible tattoos, but I haven't seen that in a job description in a while. Here, you see tats all over the place. I don't see them as such a big deal. I'd never look down on someone for having them.
I've never gotten one because I'm a wuss... and because I worked a job scooping ice cream in high school with this older guy who had arm tattoos from the Navy. He didn't really "maintain" them properly so they were all green, faded, and wrinkly. In college, whenever my friends would be like, "Let's go get a tattoo!" I'd think of that and couldn't do it!
This pic is from my wedding day. I got this tattoo a few weeks before the wedding. It's the Irish Claddagh surrounding a four leaf clover. My other tattoo is a small willow tree. It's on the inside of my right ankle. It's small and simple, but in memory of my mom. I definitely want to get something one day that will represent my kids.
Re: Tattoos!!!
Here's my latest one. It's a T-Rex my DD drew earlier this year. His name is Gary. All the artists @ the tattoo parlor thought it was awesome.
I have 4 more: a raven, an owl on a vintage bicycle, a peacock feather and a tree.
