Reflux?

So DD2 has just been a completely different baby from DD1. She doesn't sleep well at night or nap well. She cries a lot and she's had some scary spitting up. Last night she was gagging and spitting up mucousy milk for about 20 minutes after feeding. And she gets just panicky about being fed all the time.

I talked to the pediatrician and she said I am probably over feeding her and it might be reflux, but she doesn't like to diagnose it for babies this young. Baby I will be 2 weeks on Wed. I'm going to try has drops per the pediatricians advice. I hope this gets better.

No advice here my son had the issue where the stomach flap didn't devolp all the way and for months I would run to the pedi due to projectile vomiting etc. They did nothing and made me wait it out. They said until he loses weight they would not do surgery. They never checked into reflux just tile me feed him upright, sit him up 30 montes after feeding, burp mid way. Nothing worked for us. He eventually got better at around 8-9 months when introducing solids so we only had to change one outfit a day from 4. I hope it gets better. If she fusses really bad after each feeding i would get a second opinion bc if you coul give reflex meds f that's an issue it could help. Good luck I'm sorry your going through this.

I'm so sorry LO is having a rough time. One of my boys had true reflux, one had silent reflux. Both had these terrifying episodes where it would look like they couldn't breathe and it seemed as though they were seizing. DS2 was the one who had the scary spit up and gagging episodes. We also held off on a dx and meds for awhile (maybe somewhere between 2-4 mos), but I was so relieved when we started meds and his pain eased. Reflux is NOT an easy road. DS started on reflux meds when he was just a week or so old. He really needed them since he was very averse to feeding at all. So you may want to get a second opinion on the meds. A feeding aversion is no joke and very scary. He started with Zantac, but moved on soon to stronger meds (Prilosec then prevacid). Reflux is pretty awful, but luckily most kids grow out of it. DS is now off meds entirely.

If you suspect it really is reflux let me know. One of my friends went through hell and back with her little boy and finally figured out ways for him (and her) to get some relief. I'll put you in touch with her. I know she wouldn't mind talking to you about it.

I went through this with LO I got a second opinion today and it turns out pedi was doing things wrong I would get a second opinion now don't wait life could be so much easier.

We actually have an appointment with our pediatrician on Wed. I trust her a lot. So we'll see how it goes.

Are you bf or ff? I wonder if eliminating dairy would help? E cried all day and all night, an spit up constantly until I eliminated all dairy. Then se became a totally different kid. It was like a miracle.
