Parenting after a Loss

Headaches.

I know there was a post about this a few weeks ago, but I'm bringing it up again. For those who have awful headaches post partum, how long did they last? I have god awful migraines 3+ times a week.. Started shortly after having DS2 (I had a ton of headaches while pregnant with him, too) and they are showing no signs of tapering off 4 months PP.. I'm contemplating calling my OB? I assumed they were hormone headaches, but the minimal research I'm finding says that's only typical 1 month PP.. !

Re: Headaches.

  • I still have them and I started having vertigo too, but I've always struggled with migraine headaches. I have about 2 a week now. The vertigo started last month. I've been in contact with all my doctors and endo and everything came back normal. They aren't sure if the headaches were worsened and the vertigo started by the mini pill.

No advice other than caffeine and pain relievers.

  • It never hurts to ask your Dr! I woke up with awful headaches for the first couple of months with DD, I think do to hormones as well as lack of sleep. Now I notice that I wake up with them if I sleep with her (sometimes at 6am i put her in bed with me so I can get a couple hours of sleep).

Also, headaches and migraines are two different things. If you're having true migraines regularly, you should for sure talk to a dr about that! I hope you feel better soon!

That's actually a really good point.. I'm not sure I even know the difference.. all I know is my head hurts so bad, I'm nauseated, I can't focus, I can't see straight at times.. they are bad!

To me, the difference between a migraine and a headache is that a headache is annoying, but a migraine will effect your day. If I have a headache, I can take advil and continue with my day, but a migraine will keep me in bed.

It sounds like you're experiencing migraines, which you should definitely ask you dr about!
