well i never thought I'd consider this but I'm actually considering one of those little tikes bouncehouses... a friend had it at their house recently and my kids loved it...

Be sure to read the reviews. MIL bought one for my nephews in June, by September the thing was destroyed. They patched it up a few times over the summer but it just got too torn up. She went back to the store but it was over 60 days old so they wouldn't do anything.
DD will be 4 in March so we'll probably get her a bike and I'm going to ask my in laws for a big trampoline, it will be her and her brother (he'll be 2 in May) combined birthday gift. If she didn't have a birthday closer to spring I'd probably get her those things for Christmas. It's not that big, but I'm going to get her a nice trunk of dress up clothes and that will be out and set up as the special thing she comes down to see 1st. DS is 1 1/2, he probably isn't getting a big gift from us because I can't think of anything, but my in laws are probably getting him a train table. If you don't have a kitchen yet both my kids love that. You don't say if you have a boy or girl, but a doll house might be nice too. DD still loves the fisher price princess one she got last year.
to pp, interesting...the reviews I've read are all really good about how durable it was even w/ bigger kids b/c that was definitely my biggest concern!!!
op another ideaw, have you looked at magnatiles? The big set is $100 and definitely VERY popular at our house esp w/ DS he plays w/ it practically every day.
DS is getting an iPad from Santa so that's his "biggest gift". The other big gift we're getting him is magformers. Grandparents are getting him a quadrilla marble run and we're trying to convince the other grandma to get him a set of golf clubs (instead of the drum set she wants to get! Ugh!!).
DD's big present is a bike. She's also getting some new Melissa and Doug puzzles and pattern boards. She also asked for pom poms, the t rex from Toy Story.
