@joy2611 - that's the exact problem I'm having. I love Winter - but I just can't seem to shake the idea that it's too much of a GP name and people will find it "weird". I do really like both Isla and Monica - those are the only 2 other names DH and I can agree on right now. I just fear the popularity of Isla will skyrocket, which would totally ruin the name for me.
I actually really like Winter and voted for it. (When is your due date though? If she's a summer baby then never mind. I'm mobile bumping so I can't see your siggy).
I know Isla gets a lot of love here but I always have trouble remembering the right pronunciation. I have a dumb.
Just asked my DH his opinion and he said, "Definitely not Winter. Probably Monica". He's really into more traditional names though.
With a name like Winter there will be some people who love it and some who think its odd. If that really bothers you then go for a more "normal" and universally liked name like Monica or Isla.
Isla or Monica. Definitely not Winter. The only benefit I see to that name is that you could wear a t-shirt while pregnant that says, "Winter is coming." (Sorry if you don't get the reference!)
I'm just going to be all swoony over the fact that Monica managed to make someone's list, which only happens every once in a blue moon! It's a GREAT name, and waaaay underrated.
I don't like how I have to remind myself how to pronounce Isla every time I see it. And I don't think it goes well with your last name
Only use Winter if you're cool with a certain number of people thinking its weird. I'm one of those people
So, for me, Monica it is! A nice name, familiar, spellable, pronounceable, clearly female - my four favorite qualities in a name.
I don't like the double m of Monica Maren. But when I read previous posts voting for Monica Louise, each time my brain started to read Monica Lewinsky before I corrected it. I think my brain is picking up the L...s... pattern and filling in the most familiar before I can correct it with what's actually there.

So I vote Monica NewMiddleNameIdea.
I agree with the bolded. Monica seems slightly dated to me, but it is also more refreshing than the current popular names.
I did not go right from Monica Louise to Monica Lewinsky, and I think seeing it with your LN would make that even less likely, but maybe it's worth thinking about any other MN options you like.
Re: Girl Names
I love both Louise and Maren but dislike your first name choices, sorry.
How about Maren Louise?
