I am currently 32 weeks with twins and my belly is really big ;-) I can not shave any more without my husband help but I don t want to ask him every time!!! Any recommendations ???
L&D nurses really don't care if you haven't shaved. I promise. Whats a little hair to them anyway when they are cleaning up poop and blood and looking at hemorrhoids all day anyway.
Get an electric razor. It's rare that you'll hurt/cut yourself with one of those. And just do it by feel or use a mirror.

@halhal, I'm 33 wks with twins. I get what I can reach and give up on the rest.. I figure I'm covered if I need a c/s and if I give birth vaginally I won't care anyway!
Have you been around for a while or are you new to the board? I thought I knew all the twin moms so far! Either way, welcome, congrats and good luck!
I have an ultrasound appointment and NST today and figured just in case they needed to swab anything since I was leaking something (prob pee...) yesterday that I should try to take care of the mess below. I tried using DH's electric razor but it didn't do anything. I ended up jumping in and out of the shower to look in the full length mirror for help. It's not the same same as seeing it though. Plus, my acrobatic contortions led LO to start kicking my ute and twisting like a ninja starfish, making me double over in pain twice. At least I know now he's still breech... There's no way I'm getting waxed with this sensitive prego skin so I might try to contort and shave one more time, but I'm close to saying ef'it. I'm sure this will be the last thing I worry about during labor, but it's still embarrassing.
Mama of boys, Landon (Jan 14) and Harrison (Aug 15).
I squat and feel to get in the crevices. A hand mirror helps. DH said he'd help clip me on his lunch break today. (Lol!)
FTR I don't do this for the drs. I do this for myself and my husband. I haven't been feelin well the past month and have let myself go pretty bad. At least I can still look... Normal down there and feel like myself. (Lord I was gonna say pretty but I don't think lady bits are all that pretty... Lol)
I live in the middle of nowhere in the bible belt so there aren't any places to get waxed anywhere near me - so I just used some electric clippers this weekend. While standing over a trash can in front of a full-length mirror. It was not my classiest moment, but it got the job done.
I cut my fingernail off shaving my legs the other day. I asked DH to help and he tried but kept missing areas and doing it so gingerly he was not getting anything. I do like this electric razor idea! I thought about getting waxed at 36 weeks but I had done that pre-pregnancy and I wanted to die and I am actually pretty good with pain! Wow, I am no help.

January Siggy Challenge: When I am done breastfeeding...
You should watch some live birth videos and see if you can even tell what shape a woman's lady-scaping is in when there's a HUMAN coming through it. It really won't matter. If you're concerned for your own preferences, I'd say go by feel or use a mirror.
I'm just a little confused what else you expected anyone to offer up when you say you can't see your area AND you don't want to get waxed. There are no magic spells for this. If there were, I'd be using them. Hogwarts doesn't teach this.
And DH hasn't seen the goods in a while, so if we were to have sex... eventually, I think he'd be so happy he was getting some he wouldn't even notice!
December Siggy Challenge: Love Actually
Married DH: April 21 2012 // Expecting our first: Jan 20 2014
I shaved the other day. I went to the bathroom a little while after I got dressed and saw spots of blood in my underwear. I panicked for a second, until I realized I cut myself 23423 times. I bought an electric razor once but it didn't work. I think I need to research into good ones. Any ideas?
For real. I've never even used one because I heard they pull the hair out (ouch!) and I'm not talkin epilator... So I also would love some recommendations!
When I shave anymore, it's by feel. I can generally get it done so I don't feel like a crazy hairy beast, but I don't care if it's perfect. I do this for me & DH, I could care less what the doctors and nurses see. It's not like it's anything new to them.
I now feel out of place--am I the only "all natural" lady here? Haha, I guess that's not 100% true, I do use electric clippers to keep things tidy, but keeping it fully shaved and smooth is just waaaay too much work. I am a lazy mofo.
And yes, I would never even think for a second about what the doctors think. Reminds me of my first gyno appointment when I was 20, and I obsessed for days about how the doctor was going to be staring at my vag, and how that was so horrifying to me. (Nevermind they see 50 vaginas a day, my vagina was special, damnit!)
Now? I've had whole teams of people down there probing and prodding every month during our TTC struggle, while I was basically being all "oh you guys are still down there? Oh no go ahead, help yourself to whatever, I'll just be over here on Facebook."
TWO Babies in 2014! DS #1 Born 01/07/2014, DS #2 Born 12/17/2014
I shave by feel but told DH he needed to help from now on. Now that I have these damn skin tags in my freaking crotch it is impossible for me to do it anymore.
I have tried to shave by feel and in the shower I feel like I do a kick ass job but then when I get out I realized I missed so many places. My new motto for this pregnancy is bush is in!
I recommend a wax. Yes it hurts but not for long. It also lasts longer than shaving.
I'm planning to get a brazilian in the next couple of weeks before baby comes. It'll make things easier in terms of clean up and care after baby comes too. I couldn't use toilet paper for days after delivery DS. A peri bottle was my best friend and not having a lot of hair down there made clean up much easier.
I have an electric bikini trimmer that I bought for less that $20. What I just discovered works for me is placing a vanity mirror (small mirror on a stand that I use when I put my make-up on) on the closed toilet seat and using that to see the area I'm shaving. It puts the mirror at the perfect height for me. The trimmer isn't as close of a shave as a razor but it is definitely much better for me than letting it go completely.
