Pregnant with #2 and nervous!

Hi ladies,

It's been a while since I posted on this board, but I just found out I'm pregnant with #2 (not exactly planned) and I'm kind of freaking out.  How are the other pregnant ladies on here handling it?  Two under 2 just seems impossible!  I also just finished weaning DD a month ago and was so excited to have my body back.  Don't get me wrong, I'm excited for DD to have a sibling, but i'm very nervous.

  • First of all, Congrats! Ds1 and Ds2 are 24 months apart and although some days are crazy, I absolutely love it! You will figure it all out :-) Just take it one day at a time.

  • Congratulations!  Wishing you a happy & healthy 9 months!
  • Congrats! I really have no advice. I'm 21 weeks, and still thinking " omg, what did we get ourselves into?" a good chunk of the time. Everyone keeps telling me it'll be easier in a few years because they'll be into the same stuff. Hopefully.
  • 2 under 2 has its moments both good and bad. But the way my youngest looks up to his big sis and big brother is awesome. Congrats and you will do just fine.
Hey I just met you, and you're my baby. This is your family, we're kind of crazy...Lilypie Kids Birthday tickersLilypie - (tl9S)Lilypie - (zrx8)imageimageimage

  • Congrats!! Our Oct 12 baby wasn't planned, so I can kind of understand how you're feeling...and if it's any comfort to you, that surprise is the best thing that ever happened to me! Wishing you a happy, healthy pregnancy!!

  • Congrats!!  You will be just fine.  My second is just 4 weeks old (DS #1 is 1 year and 4 weeks old) and we're handling 2U2 pretty well so far.  I've even been out with both, by myself, to the grocery store and to the zoo!

The hardest part breastfeeding...it feels like LO is attached to my boob 24/7 and that makes it hard to get things done and keep DS #1 happy all of the time.  But, I just keep telling myself it'll get better soon and he won't need to nurse quite as much once he gets a little bigger.  One day at a time!

  • Congratulations! I'm 30 weeks today and still feeling like "what the heck did we get ourselves into!" I'm very excited for DD to have a little sister but pregnancy with a toddler is definitely more interesting...you'll be fine though! I can't believe LO #2 is almost here already! H&H 9 months to you!

  • I had two under two, and although it takes adapting you will be able to do it.  Just be careful of that first month.  Accept help while you and your partner are in the adaptation phase.  It is easy to get frustrated before you get both feet on the ground.  Definitely accept help in the beginning.

  • I am 21 weeks pregnant with #2. I know it'll be tough, but i'm finally getting used to the fact that I AM pregnant again, and getting excited :)

  • Congrats! My Oct12 baby happened the same way- had just weaned and wasn't expecting it! It's super fun now though to have the two of them so close in age (25 months). I was pretty nervous that DD1 was going to have trouble adjusting, but she transitioned amazingly to big sister and has been in love with DD2 since she was born. Seems hard, but try to focus on how fun it'll be to have the siblings so close together!

  • Our 2 are 20 months apart.  It really isn't that bad once you find your rhythm!  It was on purpose and completely planned, but even still, it really isn't that bad.  All I can say is that as your toddler grows, teach him/her to love babies, how to be gentle, and just try and help them be as careful as possible around babies.  Our son is amazing with our daughter.  He has been since day one.  We are really lucky in that aspect, I think.  But I know one of the reasons is because I've been doing childcare since he was about 1.  Exposure is key.  And things will be great!
