Fall/Winter Dresses

A few years ago I really got into Summer skirts and this year I started loving dresses. I felt like I had no problem finding cute maxi dresses that I could wear just to run errands or dress up.  Unfortunately I am having no luck finding good cold weather dresses.  So, where do you buy cold weather dresses for yourself?  Bonus for PIPs of cute ones.

    I just throw on a jean jacket or cardigan to bring my summer dress into a fall/winter dress (but I live in Ca and it's never super cold here). Where are you?

    Michigan, so it gets pretty cold.

    I love the  sweater dress look, just like the one you posted, but I never find the right ones in store.

    I think the key is layering.  Wear you Maxi with a long sleeve shirt/jacket and then put leggings under the dress.  I wear a lot of longer skirts in the winter.  I do not have the body to pull off a sweater dress.

    I feel like this is a dumb question but what kind of shoes do you wear with maxi skirts in the Winter?  I could easily pair warmer tops with them but I have no idea what kind of shoes.

    Super comfy, flattering, and lots of colours and prints. With tights and flats or boots.

    Ugh shoes are so hard in the winter!  I do boots also.  You could probably also get by with a ballerina flat type of shoe.  Some people can do mary janes but they can come off looking clunky also.  Right now I wear a sporty mary jane but I'm also pregnant and can get by with it.  Once my feet are not swelled to twice their size I'm getting a new pair of cute boots!
