Getting ready to have 2U2, which do you prefer, side by side or stadium style seating? Benefits and problems with both experiences? Thanks mamas!

What are you using your stroller for most often? I have a sit and stand because I needed something narrow to fit between the tiny stacks in our small local library. If you note my username, picking a stroller based on the library as a frequent outing fits. It also works great for doctors appointments where we have to fit in a small exam room. :)

That said, I would love to get a side-by-side jogging stroller for outdoor use. It would be much more practical for our frequent neighborhood walks during warm weather. If I can find one for a good deal in the spring, I'll probably snag it and use whichever stroller is more appropriate for each outing.
    Mommy to N (3), J (2), and C (10 months). LO4 is due in mid-September.

I had thought about small isles in shopping center and restaurants but hadn't thought about dr. offices. I'd mostly be using it for walking around the neighborhood but sounds like it might just be convenient to have both.
    Thank you
  • Yea if you can swing it, I think it's nice to have something small for indoors, like a single with a rider board or tandem, then a nice side by side double for walks.  I have the BOB Duallie and love it then I keep the Bugaboo Bee with an Englacha Junior X Rider (it's a ride on board with a seat) in my car.

  • We use ours mostly for outdoor walks/light jogging.  When #2 was born, we lived in the city and the stroller was our main mode of transportation.  So we loved a side by side for that reason. We got a Bumbleride Indie Twin and it handled much better on the uneven pavement/cobblestones/in the snow.  when we moved to the suburbs, we got a used Maclaren twin techno to keep in the car for shopping excursions because it folded up so small.  Go try some out and see what you like!  Good luck!

  • I guess I have research to do. I haven't paid enough attention to know what a standing board is. My #1 will only be 15 months when #2 gets here. Doesn't sound like something she will be mature enough for but I will check it out! Thanks mamas
  • I had a side by side and had zero issues navigating through doctors offices, grocery store aisles or the library.

You might want to check out the Englacha Junior X Rider.  It's a rider board with a seat.  My DD started using it at 16 months and did great.
