Ovidrel Question and Intro

Hello,

I'm Jill.  I am 38 with a 14 month old little girl.  My husband and I lost our first baby due to a NTD at 22 weeks (we got pregnant our second month trying.)  It took us 9 months to get pregnant with our toddler after that.  This is our 9th cycle trying to conceive again and our first medicated cycle.  We had a work up done at the RE in Sept/Oct. which showed I have insulin resistance, a blocked left tube, MTHFR, and some minor issues with ovulation (I ovulate, but just not quite strong enough.)  

Anyway, I started on Clomid 50 mg days 5-9 and I just had an ultrasound and blood work done this morning.  I have one great looking follicle on my right side (yay!)  They called and left me a message to trigger with Ovidrel tomorrow and have intercourse on Sunday.  No one told me what time to trigger and the doctor's office is closed for the weekend.  Anyone know when would be the best time of day to trigger?

    Hi, I hope you don't mind a 2IF grad posting. My doctor told me that the timing of Ovidrel is very specific to when your iui will be so that you ovulate a few hours after the procedure. I triggered exactly 36 hours before my iui. I would definitely try to get a hold of your doctor to see what your protocol should be.

    Edit: I see you are doing TI and not iui. The timing of Ovidrel might not be specific in that case if you trigger tomorrow morning, I'd be sure to dtd 24-36 hours later.

    8/2013 - IUI #2: 50 units Follistim +  Ovidrel  = BFP! Beta #1 (12 dpiui) 8/21: 45  Beta #2 (16 dpiui) 8/26: 301 Beta #3 (21 dpiui) 8/30: 1,929. 1st Ultrasound 9/4 - One perfect sac. 2nd Ultrasound 9/13 - Heartbeat at 124 bpm! Anniversary

    MJC1116 - thank you so much for your reply.  We are doing TI and your explanation helped.  I think I will trigger in the am and the dtd 24 hours later.  Thanks for the help and congrats on your successful IUI!  :)

    Two DDs 10/08 and 08/10, no primary IF
    TTC #3 since 10/2011 - dx unexplained/weak ovulation
     3 BFN clomid + TI cycles, 5 BFN clomid/gonal f IUIs, 1 mmc IUI
    2/19/2014 IVF #1 Unexpected low E2 (oversuppressed) -> increased to max doses = 3 or 4 follicles, converting to IUI
    BFFP Saw 1 beautiful heartbeat at 6w6d, follow up u/s at 9w showed mmc. Eff this.
    NTNP 5/2014-9/2014, OPKs and TI 10/2014 - 1/2015. 
    RPL testing all normal, AFC, AMH, and FSH all normal. 
    IVF 1.2 1/22/2014 natural cycle start, AFC 28, 300 gonal f/150menopur. 
    ER 2/3/15 14R 8M 3F w/ICSI Day 5 transfer on 2/8/15 of one "Grade A+" blast and have TWO frosties!

    If it's TI, DTD today, trigger tomorrow, and DTD again the following day. You want to have the sperm waiting for the egg. 

    Good luck. Like others mentioned, you typically ovulate around 36hrs after your trigger.

    Welcome! Looks like you found the answer you needed. Just wanted to say I am also doing trigger shot and TI for the first time this cycle. I'm triggering on Monday morning. The nurse is doing it after my u/s. Good luck!!
