AP and spacing

We're considering TTC sometime next year and I'm wondering about the logistics of things like bedsharing/cosleeping and nursing. What do you think is a good difference in age? I like that DS sleeps with us and I'm not (at this point) looking to move him out of our room yet and he's still nursing quite a bit throughout the night. Anyone have any stories or advice about bed sharing with a toddler and newborn? TIA!

    I think every family is different and that AP is doable with any spacing. You can just try to examine your goals and expectations for breastfeeding, cosleeping, etc., and be aware that LO1 could wean during your pregnancy with #2, and if you want to cosleep for a certain amount of time, you might be doing so with 2 kids at the same time, and for babywearing, you might become proficient in wearing 2 at once. ;)

    Our boys are 19 months apart. You just make it work whatever the spacing. We kept DS1 in our bed. Until DS2 was 1, it went DH: DS1: Me: DS2 next to me in the sidecar.

    Yeah I think you just make it work with whatever spacing you are blessed with! Mine are 2 years 10 months apart and it's been pretty great. I can't imagine them any closer now. Weaning was no big deal, even though I thought it would be (I nursed through about half my pregnancy). Probably the hardest part of it to me is that our kids are not good sleepers and we don't do CIO so it's pretty exhausting. But worth it! Good luck!

    Our boys will be just about 25 months apart. Within the past month, DS1 moved from our bed into his big boy bed in his own room. He's still nursing at least once every other day, but is no longer nursing overnight. At this point, we're just following his lead, but I'm happy with our spacing.

    At 13 months (or even 16 months, when I got pregnant the second time), he wasn't ready to be in his own bed or night wean, but he's really grown and changed a TON in the past 6 months. Give it time and do what works for your family.
