A few things I have learned with this pregnancy...
- Promordal Labor sucks!
- Compared to my 4th Degree tear birth, C/S experiences are much scarier than a vaginal birth (if your awake), but the recovery is so much smoother!
- Every baby has a different style of parenting they need. My son was Mr. Independent (pacis, cribs, formula fed)...my little girl wants only the breast and to sleep near me.
- I feel guilty that I can't spend the quality time with my son that he deserves, but if I'm patient, a few weeks will fly and we will be right back to my normal self.
- I have an amazing support system.
- I am a hormonal mess.
What have you learned?
Re: A few things I have learned with this pregnancy...
I have learned I can to operate on little sleep, but its not as fun.
I have learned that my hubby is a great support system
I have learned that a huge drop in BP is not safe at all and not a fun experience.
I have learned that you can be more hormonal after delivery than before.
I have learned that hospital food can actually be good.
I have learned that as much as I thought pregnancy was hard and uncomfortable breast feeding is 10 times harder and more uncomfortable.
I have learned DH is an amazing father and more of a natural at some things than i am ( changing, swaddling)
Most importantly I have learned the greatest most powerful intense love I could ever feel
My body does not like to be pregnant.
Csection only birth is much better than the double wammy of pushing for 2+ hours before an emergency csection.
Girls (at least mine) are divas compared to boys.
My DH is more wonderful and understanding than I even realized. Also, he is going to be wrapped around Shelby's finger.
I've learned that while i was not excited about breastfeeding, I am really disappointed that it didn't work out for us and that I have to pump every two hours. My first was formula fed, and while that was convenient, providing milk for my son is the most rewarding thing I've ever done.
I've learned that I am not an expert on how to get babies to sleep and that while swaddling and white noise worked with my first. .. this baby Hates to be swaddled.and white noise keeps him up all night.
I've also learned that men are idiots and you shouldn't ever depend on them to take initiative. I have to give SO specific instructions other wise shit gets done completely ass backwards.
You need to go to sleep you crazy crazy baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also I've learned that 2 1/2 year olds can be thoughtful and helpful. DD1 is a big help and a great sister already.
