AW: Found Charlie's HB on the home doppler :)

I decided to take a few minutes while I had the house to myself to sit and try to find Charlie's hb, knowing that I probably wouldn't but wanting to try anyway.  I found it!!  Low and to the left, but there and steady.  Love hearing that sound, and while I'm sad DH wasn't here to hear it, I love that I get my own special moments with this baby.  If he wants, I'll find for him after we put C to bed :).  Nice and steady in the 130s (hoping that means boy! Charlie either sex).

  • Isn't it such a sweet sound?! It's so exciting to be able to hear your baby!

  • Today I'm either 11 or 12 weeks, the dating ultrasound made me 11 weeks, dates make me 12, and I've seen both a midwife and an OB.  Each one referred to me as a different date, and it's only a week, so whatever.

@Steffs440, they are super neat.  Most people buy the Sonoline or Sonoline B for 50 bucks or so online.  They aren't really recommended for home use because so many women flip out when they can't find the heartbeat.  Just because you found it one doesn't mean you'll find it another time.  I'm a little more chill because last pregnancy even the doc's couldn't find C's heartbeat half the time!  When they are little it's harder because any movement or being too low can affect what you hear.  I use mine once a week so keep down on the crazy making aspect, and I don't freak if I can't find it right away.  That said, I'm also beginning to feel movement so that makes it easier to not flip out if I can't find a heartbeat!

  • Have you heard the heart beat at the doctors and 130 is a normal beat for you? Usually anything between 120-140 is your artery (it sounds like a swishing sound)... And if you're at 11-12 weeks baby's heart beat should be 150-180 (sounds like thumping or galloping horses) just making sure you hearing the right sounds =] congrats if it was baby!! Its so exciting!!
