Sorry for the delay, we've been a little busy :-)
Wednesday 11/6 around 5pm DH called me to let me know he was on his way home. I started having contractions right around that time but was not sure if they were real it Braxton hicks. I decided to grab a shower just in case (I worked from home this day do just stayed in my PJs all day) DH got home around 6pm and started making fun of be because I was doing my hair, 1st thing out of his mouth was "are you in labor? Why are you doing your hair?" At this point my contractions were around 5 min apart so I called my OB and waited for a call back. 45min later still no call and at this point I was sure I was in actual labor because my contractions were 3min apart and were more painful (the day before at my appointment I was 3cm dilated and fully efface) I called the office again and got a call back in 5 min saying come in. We got to the hospital around 8pm and I was 4cm dilated so the admitted me. As soon as they got me in a L&D room I got my epidural because I was in tears my contractions were do bad. The nurse came in and checked me around 11pm and I was 6cm. My water broke on its own around 1am on Thursday 11/7 and my doctor came into my room around 3:30am to check me herself for the 1st time, I was 10cm dilated!! She had me wait because I cod not feel the contractions still because of the epidural and she didn't want me pushing until I could feel them. 15 min later I had DH call the nurse cause I was ready! The nurse and DH held my legs got the 1st 30min if pushing, they had to call a resident on because my doctor was not answering her pages... The resident got there around 4:15am, my doctor got there at 4:20am and Nicholas was born at 4:25am. My hospital does 60min if immediate skin to skin which was an amazing way to spend my 1st hour with my son (he did poop all over me!) they weighted him at 5:30am and he weighed in at 8lbs and was 20in long! 9 days later I feel amazing and am enjoying every min with him!!!
