Baby keeps rolling to tummy...

We put her to sleep on her back but she rolls to tummy over and over. Seems like it is helping her sleep better but I am a nervous wreck. I never had this with my other kids. Is it ok to leave her on tummy when she rolls?

  • Same here and with our son too. Dr always said once they are rolling on their own into that position just to leave them.

My LO almost exclusively sleeps on her tummy now, it's fine as long as they are putting themselves there.

This. DD started doing this about a month ago and I too was freaking out but she's been fine.

  • We have a stomach sleeper too. She can roll both ways and we used a breathing monitor for the first
Couple of weeks in combination with a video monitor and now we are more comfortable with it and she sleeps better.
  • S has been doing this for a while. At first I was so nervous and barely slept because I kept checking on him. For the last 6-7 weeks he's been sleeping on his belly. I hate when he's face down, but he's fine. We have a super firm mattress in his crib, so it's hard for his nose to get covered (if that makes any sense).
LO will be fine since she's able to roll.
  • Our pedi said its fine if they get themselves there in the first place. LO sleeps so well on his belly!

Yep. The only issue we have now is that she thinks she can't roll to her back again, so if she wakes up on her tummy, she cries until I go in and get her back to sleep on her back. She's starting to figure it out though.
