Is this just a phase?

Lately, DS has become all about Daddy and is completely disinterested in me. For example, yesterday afternoon I picked him up from daycare and as soon as we got home he kept saying "Da? Da?" As if he was wondering where Daddy was and was super fussy for the next hour until Daddy got home. He wants Daddy to feed him. He wants him to do everything. it is starting to hurt my feelings. Is this typical or does he just like my DH better now?
IF DX: DOR & Fragile X pre-mutation carrier
2011: FSH 13.3 & E 99; AMH 0.54 2nd FSH 6.2 E 40's AFC: 8
BFP from Clomid/IUI ~ Pre-e and IUGR during pregnancy ~ DS born 9/4/12
Feb./March 2013: AMH less than 0.16 (undectable) and AFC = 4;
BFP from supps ~ DS#2 due May 2014

    It's a phase. I think they swing between favourites from time to time. My LO hasn't made the daddy switch yet though and I am dreading it. Sorry that you're feeling hurt.

    Agreed. It's a phase. He'll switch back and forth. There are times; however, when they are all about me. But, when it comes to any sort of fun- it's DH who is the star.

    My son is only 5 months so I don't have any knowledge or experience on this but just wanted to give you a big hug because this would hurt me so much!  I agree with pp, it is most likely a phase.

    You just described my DS.  It does hurt my feelings a little, but I also kind of love that they are best friends :)

    E is doing this right now too! Part of me is glad to have a little space to get things done. But I'm also a tiny bit jealous.

    G is going through a little bit of that right now too. He still wants me for some things, but he just lights up when Daddy plays and reads with him. It does hurt my feelings a little, but now I know how DH must have felt for so long in those early months when G only wanted me.

    Yup. He might be going through a Daddy phase now but he will switch to Mommy and back again. I read somewhere that in order to form strong attachments with both parents kids often focus on one at a time by going through these phases. The other night I sat down to read DS his bedtime story and he told me he wanted Daddy. It was so sad for me but I tried to understand.

    I agree with PP that is can be a phase. Right now DH is at home with DS while I work so he definitely prefers daddy most of the time too. I do love how close they have become but I want him to want me too! I don't remember where I heard/read this before but something about they way Moms and Dads are with their kids is different too, like Dads tend to be more playful and do more silly things, where as Moms do more of the nurturing and teaching things. So children feed off those energies and flock to what they need so to speak.
