Hi ladies, this is my first post since my daughter was born. She is now almost 17 weeks and has been ebf since birth. Breastfeeding has always been painful, sometimes it hss been more bearable than others but it generally been hard. She has done great, gained well and until last week nursed very consistently.
On Oct 31st we saw a lactation consultant who immediatley noticed a lip tie. She recommended we get it clipped. She also diagnosed me with thrush and gave me meds which really seemed to help.We saw our pedi the next day and he did not recommend it, saying it didnt look severe to him. He referred us to an ENT who also said not to do the clip. I had some relief from pain but it quickly returned along with bleeding.
Now my daughter has stopped being my great nurser and often thrashes and arches her back when trying to nurse, which in turn is very painful for me. Im stuck about what to do. We had an appt with a pediatric dentist but she told us she didnt feel comfortable clipping a four month old. I really want to breastfeed but not sure about working through this pain. Any advice or suggestions would be great! Sorry this got so long.
