WTF inlaws...

They are such baby experts they feel the need to tell me how we do everything wrong, yet are so fucking clueless. Was supposed to meet up for breakfast for 10. I had LO wake up from a nap at 9:40, then changed & fed him...it was going to be perfect....they don't call us till 11:30...so we meet up for breakfast, I scarf my food as LO cries and have to leave in 20 minutes cause he's tired for another nap. I left hubby there to deal with them and they will probably criticize me for leaving and giving in to the baby....yeah cause I'm such a bad person/mother.

  • Ugh, that's so annoying. Im sorry. Sometimes I think people have blocked out certain parts of raising a newborn and can't remember, yet since they have kids they think they're experts.
I've had a crappy week with my IL's as well. My mil constantly ctiticizes me. The last two visits it was scolding me for not having pants on him during supper and then the next time she said, "You know I think those pants are keeping him from learning to crawl because he can't get traction." It's the "And do you do this and that for him?!?!?!" Things constantly. She asks me about my baby book progress regularly and if I was brushing his teeth before he had any.

  • My in-laws are REALLY inconsiderate about other people's time, too. My FIL is a large animal vet and also owns cattle, so I get that he has a lot going on and sometimes emergencies come up. But that still doesn't mean your time is more important than anyone else's. They will regularly show up hours late for things and it pisses me off, ESPECIALLY now that we have a baby who can only live life in 2-3 hour increments before needing naps and nursing sessions! PEOPLE, BE CONSIDERATE! I am always on time, even with the baby.

  • Our family now functions on a "whenever the babies are awake and not crabby" schedule... babies can be nuts, why is this news to people who have had babies?!?

  • Ugh, how frustrating. It drives me crazy when people are so clueless about timing. Like PPs have said, how do people not realize that you're on a schedule??
