So my LO will be 6 months old tomorrow. He has been battling a cold or maybe an allergy the past 3 days. Nurse says no worries. But today he has rubbed his ear so hard and so much. No fever, no unusual fussiness. What do you think is going on??
My daughter has been doing this for weeks. Non-stop tugging and rubbing. I've had her doctor check her ears twice (just in case) but they are clear...he said it must be teething.
Hopefully it's just teeth for your little one...but I too would suggest having them checked just in case!
My LO just started this tonight. I had her at the doc a few days ago, and her ears were clear, so I'm inclined to think it is something else. I thought maybe she just discovered her ears. I didn't think, or know, it could be teething. My LO will be 6 months on the 19th.
My baby started rubbing her ears, I discovered her hair was growing longer and tickling her ears. It could be anything , if you don't feel good about it call the doctor.
I just posted a similar question above!!! I hope its teething and no ear infection. This explains why he does it when he nurses- because his mouth hurts I guess? Is 16 weeks too early to teeth?
E is doing this too. Her pedi said since she has no fever/fussiness that it could be teething. I've noticed that she does it a lot when tired so my thought is that she is taking after her daddy who did the same thing as a baby.
My son never had a fever while having an ear infection, but did while teething Only way you will know is to take your lo in to get checked. DD thankfully hasn't started any of that yet. She's 5 months old but she's chewing on everything!!!
Mine has been doing this when he goes to sleep. He'll be 5 months next week. I just thought he had found his ear and was checking it out. Now I'm wondering if it was tooth related.
Re: Rubbing Ear
My mom said I did that before cutting a tooth. Since baby is 6mo could be that too.
