Forgetfullness....is anyone else experiencing? (thank you for letting me vent)

Today has not been a good day at work so far. I forgot to do something important for my boss, something that is common sense and I would never forget to do. Well, it cost him his time and he was very upset. The problem is it keeps happening. I forget to give him certain messages, or I forget to input information that is needed to get the accurate quote. It is so frustrating and today it got to me. I started crying because I felt so irresponsible and not myself. I am so good at what I do that making mistakes is not one of my issues. Procrastination, now that is another story.

Background info on what I do: I am an insurance broker and my boss also happens to be my cousin.

Am I the only one experiencing this? Thank you for letting me vent.

  • Girl, you are not alone! I forgot to relay 3 messages to my husband yesterday! I left my purse in my husbands car last week and went to the grocery store... Yeah, that didn't work out too well! I find it helps for business messages if I write it down in my notes on my phone since I always have it on me! Hope work gets better for you!

Thank you for responding. :) Definitely will start using my phone like you said. It's like common sense just went out the window for me.

  • My bf thinks that I'm just overwhelmed. I printed out an article for him and ever since he's been good with not asking me to take on all his stuff.
  • I'm so forgetful. Yesterday when I got home from work, I pulled my car into the garage and put it in park. I proceeded to get out of the car and was about to go inside the house when I noticed that the garage seemed a lot louder than normal, and I realized that I never turned off my car. Oy.

  • You are not alone. I have been making lists and notes like crazy I have one by my bed, On the fridge , and on my phone I check them daily and have been setting alarms on my phone calendar . To avoid forgetting. Hope things get better.
  • I am carrying a note book around with me all the time, especially at work! Some days I can't even string a sentence together!
  • I'm doing OK this time, but when I was pregnant with DS it was horrible!  I had to write everything down, and I didn't even try to remember stuff with out referring to my notebook.  The good news is, I was able to remember things as soon as DS was born.

  • Pregnancy brain is like a cruel joke!! My husband just stares at me...lol :) I'm like what?? I forgot, the babies are stealing my brain cells!!! Hahaha!!
  • I have been extremely forgetful too, especially at work. I do think it comes with being pregnant (preggo brain), most of my time spent is thinking about being pregnant, the baby, etc so I feel like a lot of stuff gets pushed in the back.

I'm sorry you had a bad day :(

  • I've been okay this time but last time after I had DD it got sooo bad. At work I would have no recollection of some things at all. It was scary actually. My memory slowly came back.

  • Oh my goodness. I have been so bad lately! I feel for all of you. I freaked out thinking I had to leave for work an hour earlier than I did last night. And then this morning, after work, I went to get money out of the ATM and tried to use a pin for a debit card/account I haven't used in nearly 5 years. And called lemonade "lemon juice". In my case it's all funny but gah, I'm over it!
