What's not fair? Add yours

What do you find completely unfair in life?

Mine is that pants don't fit the same when you're sitting down as when you're standing up.  Oof.

  • Shoes. My feet are super wide and I can't wear any cute shoes unless they are made by Clark's. Boo.

  • That clothes are not made for women who have extreme hourglass figures and narrow torsos/big boobs (as I am usually whining about here. BTW @Calikat80--I'm not skinny, just my torso is, LOL.) It's like we're an ideal but it's only supposed to be worth something if we're, you know, naked, and in most day-to-day social/professional activities that is not a requirement.

The other thing is that my freaking life is so medicalized post-childbirth (right now in the midst of a potential cancer scare with an idiot endocrinologist who will not answer any questions about anything, including this). I just want my old, non-medicalized body back! I want not to have to worry about all that sh!t.
  • Why can't it be Saturday every day? I really am hating this work crap.
  • It's not fair that I can't loose weight just by wanting to

    Preach.

  • It's not fair that I can't buy all the things
I feel like even if I was well off I'd still shop at Target.  I'd just be able to by all the things lol

  • I'm with ya, @subliminalrabbit. House prices are ridiculous here too.
It's not fair that it seems like there's never enough time.
  • I agree @subliminalrabbit it's not fair I can't buy a house here :(

  • It's not fair that the man I fell in love with and married a man who lives on the other side of the world. It's not fair that it's easier for us to survive in Sydney vs New York. It's not fair that no one from my family (except my mom) and none of my friends have met my baby.

    And yes student loans too!

I second @kdc2007 and add in why don't education prices relate to salaries of those professions upon graduation to allow you to comfortably pay off said loans?

Seriously on this one. I don't know how some people (like teachers starting out) manage!

I think it depends on the school district, but I made a pretty decent starting salary. It wasn't great, but I could afford to have my own apartment and everything. I didn't have any student loans, but I could have squeezed them into my budget if I had and just spent less on the extras. Now if I had gone into editing like I was originally hoping, that pays peanuts--like half a starting teacher's salary!

  • It's not fair that DH gets to sleep all day in a nice quiet house and I am alone all night with DD and her shenanigans.

  • It's not fair that after working in my new position for 2 months and told I would only be working daylight hours, now my manager wants to add on evening and night shift coverage and extra hours. Really?!?! I just may have to leave the position. I feel very betrayed.
  • It's not fair that in the cities where I can make the most $, I can't afford to buy a house.  For example, the city I live in right now.
