Christmas presents

I'm sorry if this has been discussed recently, I've had a busy 2 weeks and haven't been on much.  But I'm looking for Christmas ideas.  I don't want just another toy to throw in the box and be played with once a month.  That's what everyone else's gifts are for :)  And on top of it his birthday is Jan. 4th, so it's like toy overload for the holiday season in our house.  Ideas for a nice/non-toy/something-he-can-use-longer-than-a-year gift?

    My kid has so much crap that lights up and makes noise, so I've decided I will only be getting him things that stimulates thinking and imaginary play. I'll probably get him wooden blocks, some type of pull toy, toy cars, a Radio Flyer wagon, and a toddler pillow.

    Does he already have his own kid chair like the PB Kids Anywhere Chair or maybe a table and chair set.

    I like toys that last ages too, we're doing play table w/ benches, kitchen & food, wood blocks, duplos, books.

    Other ides, sign LO up for lessons like tumble class or swim lessons. Toddler bedding. 1st Potty. Clothes. Eating utensils/plates. Bath fiz/color tablets.

    This is a good gift if he doesn't already have his own chair. There's a $20 off PBK anywhere chairs today.
    I was thinking about getting DS a teepee from land of nod. I think he would be able to get fun use out of it for a few years to come.

    Anywhere Chair (my 5-year old still uses his Land of Nod chair which is basically the same thing), experience gift (zoo membership, indoor play place pass), tunnel or tent.  

    We're getting DS a climber to put in our playroom because he is a monkey and needs something like that to occupy him this winter.  If I can find a good deal, I may get an Anywhere Chair (either from UglySoft.com or by buying the inserts on eBay and the cover from Pottery Barn).
