graco car seat problems

I have a graco infant snugride classic connect 30. The right harness strap will not tighten and it loosens when LO moves. I've tried everything. I've readjusted it, rethreaded it, everything possible. I just contacted graco about this issue but they are closed and I won't hear anything back for a while so I thought I would come here to see if any other moms have had this issue.

Re: graco car seat problems

  • I have th snug ride 40 and haven't had any issues at all. That sounds dangerous though. If it were me I'd try to keep LO at home until you can get it replaced. Can you take it back to the store it came from?

  • I have the 34 and no issues. Take it back to where you got it and they will either fix it or give you another one if it's within 30 days (BRU)
  • Do you have it in the correct loops on the back of the seat. I believe there are 3 loops on the snugride and depending in weight and harness position you use different loops.
  • I checked all of those things. Turns out the straps were in the wrong loops. That fixed it slightly. Now it doesn't loosen on its own, but the right strap still won't tighten that well. I have to hold the left one out as I pull the adjuster strap so that the right one will tighten and then I have to let go of the left and tighten it again. It is a huge pain but I can get it to a safe level of tightness and it doesn't move anymore. BUT I still want to buy a new one because I feel more comfortable doing so. Thanks for the advice!

  • Oh and it has already been like 6 months since I bought it so I can't get it replaced, unfortunately. I may be able to get it replaced through graco however seeing as the problem is still not resolved entirely and I already spoke to someone about it.

  • I'm glad someone recommended Car Seats for the Littles!  I was just going to write that :)
