OB/GYN Dr's at G'town

I have an appointment at G'town for prenatal care and the appt setter said that if I didnt want to wait until Jan 26 I could see a nurse practioner sooner.

This will be my first time having care/delivery at G'town and I was wondering do anyone know how they operate? Is doc good etc....

Also I chose G'town after I looked them up to see what type of dr's they had that handle women that are highrisk and having multiples.......Thanks

Re: OB/GYN Dr's at G'town

  • Are you already seeing another dr?  I ask because you are already 18 weeks and are considering waiting over a month to get into G'town.  Georgetown is a large practice -- I believe there are 8-10 OBs and the waiting room is usually rather crowded.

It does take a while to get the initial appointment but then after that you should be ok scheduling your regular appointments.  You can request all your prenatal appointments with the same doctor so you can have that continuity.  For low-risk/singleton births, you just get whatever doctor is on call in L&D for your delivery.  I am not sure how it works for multiples births.  I have heard good things about their high risk practice and know that many people go there for that reason.

  • when I found out it was twins I called there the NP explained everything you said to me on thursday! I told her that I was hoping just to see the same doctor and she suggested that I have at least one appointment with all so I can see who I am more comfortable with, so we decided to do just that. so far so good everything went well.....
