Caleb Victor was born 11/14/13 at 9:10am at 7lb 12oz 21in
Here is some background :
Started having contractions at midnight Wednesday night, lost my mucous plug around 2am and by 3am I was really ready to give up and go to hospital but DH did a good job of reminding me of where I wanted to labor. We got to hospital by 4am, got checked in and I was already at 9cm with just a lip left of cervix! I was telling everyone I didn't care anymore about my birth preferences and wanted to have a break. Because I felt no real rests between contractions . It was so hard ! But everybody (especially DH Chris ) was like no ...this is what you wanted. So I was doomed! Ha ha!! I didn't get anything, not even an IV because nurse couldn't get in my veins. So Amidst the contractions that were so hard to distinguish at that point my water broke and it had miconium . That made things sorta complicated because of the dangers of his breathing it in. Ok so toward the unforceable end I could hardly push anymore but baby's heart beat was so low everybody was freaking out at me which was so unhelpful but I guess I didn't realize how dire the circumstances were . Midwife had to give me episiotomy which I hardly felt she used some lidocaine. When I finally managed to get the last few pushes in (and according to Chris I pooped 2x) he flopped out and had two seconds on my belly before they clamped the cord and was quickly handed to neo natal specialist rubbed him down hard and suctioned junk out of him . I was covered in miconium junk and so was midwife. His lungs were double checked and he latched super fast. And that's what we 're working on now, good latching because my nipples are so sore already. But he is eating well :)we are so grateful!!!
