FYI postpartum sweats

Holy cow. I didn't know this would happen. I wake up completely soaked from sweating. Stinks because I have to changed and then I'm all chilled because house is cold.
I looked it up and it says its your body dumping your hormones and excess water weight. Wow! I must have a ton.
Be prepared.

Re: FYI postpartum sweats

  • Yup! I was not prepared for this either. It's crazy! I've been drenched for so many nights, and wake up freezing because it's cold. I feel ya!

  • Ugh they are dire, aren't they? I'd forgotten them!

  • Whew. The boob sweat is insane! Plus sweating from everywhere else. I have to shower right when I get up.
  • I had it really bad starting only a few hours after delivering but I had swelled really bad all the sudden from pre-e so my body was trying to get rid of it fast.
  • I had them terribly! It felt awful! Not looking forward to that again!

  • They suck so bad. It helps to sleep on some bath towels.
  • I started them about two days after delivery and they lasted for a couple weeks, and it was still summer so it was HOT. Grossss.
  • I am so experiencing this! It's crazy!
  • I just noticed this 2 nights ago.... Holy uncomfortable. I'm already all wet from my boobs and wearing a gross pad down below is also not comfortable.... Just another fun thing, lol.
  • Thanks for the heads up! I totally forgot about reading about this! :)

  • Ohhhhhh the sweats!!
I totally forgot about them from last time, so when they started this time I was insisting the DH had been messing with the thermostat.
  • I am the exact opposite.  I cannot get warm.  I feel cold all.the.time.  I still wake up completely drenched because of milk leaking while I sleep.  I can't wear a bedtime nursing bra with nursing pads because I've already had a clogged milk duct while using a bra, and I'm NOT trying to get another one.

  • Yep already not looking forward to it. I sweated for about 2 months after DS. I already have clean towels prepared to sleep on ;) but on a good note, you loose all water weight & get closer to pre pregnancy weight lol

I haven't even thought to weigh myself recently. I did a couple days after birth and was surprised to see I only lost less then what my son was born at. That's ok though. So focused on bf right now it doesn't seem like I have time for anything else lol.
  • I had them w DD1, but not w DD2. I guess they are just one of those weird things.

  • I go from freezing to sweating to both at the same time. It's really obnoxious.

Me too, makes it extra hard to get out of bed to feed the lo. I wrap a blanket around my shoulders and go to work lol.
