Spending the night in L&D

Went to the doctor today and I was 4cm 90% effaced and -1. My doctor stripped my membranes to get things moving since I hadn't really been contracting other than at night which I usually just sleep through. As soon as I left I began having contractions and cramps but nothing that could be timed.
A couple hours later they became regular at 5 minutes apart. They stayed like that for 6 hours. Some are more intense than others so doctor wanted me to come in and be evaluated just in case.
Well I'm here and nothing has changed with dilation. I'm surprised and so was my doctor. They're keeping me overnight for observation but if nothing has changed I'll go home and just wait it out.
I walked around a bit but honestly I'm tired and just want to sleep. I really hope something changes! Just visited the nursery and seeing all those squishes makes me really want mine!
No real point to this other than sharing. Some nice strong labor vibes this way would be good!
Btw I'm a FTM 39 weeks.

The pushing was soooo intense and I ended up with a 2nd degree year in perineum and right and left labia tears. Very sore but who cares she's here and she's healthy!
