DH and I went for our follow up u/s  today as I went in 2 weeks ago due to some brown spotting.  At that u/s they found a sac and it measured 4 weeks instead of 5.  Dr. said I could have ovulated later and we started doing a beta series which was rising but not doubling and the spotting stopped.  So I still had hope but was preparing myself incase is was to MC.  Well today we get to the Dr. and the u/s tech starts the vag u/s and I immediately knew something was not right as the sac was gone.  She then moved around and there without her even saying a word was the most beautiful heartbeat but my worst fear it is the wrong spot....my left tube to be exact.  I am sooo devastated but know DH and I will get through this.  This has been our year of HELL!  Dealing with a flooded home in April which we had to rebuild and live in a hotel for 12 weeks to this now...I am so ready for 2014.  I am having surgery tomorrow afternoon and we are hoping to save my tube as nothing has ruptured yet but depending on scaring may have to.  I look forward to getting to know everyone and use this board as another support system.

**Update**  I had my surgery on Friday and it went good.  The doctor said I was only a few days from my tube actually rupturing so thank god they found it when they did.  However, my tube was stretched so much that when they took all the tissue out it did not go back to its original shape which upped the chances of this happening again in that tube even more so my doctor made the call and removed that tube.  I'm still very sore from the surgery but DH has been amazing helping me with everything and even took me shopping a little today to get out of the house and walk around.  This experience has been a emotional roller coaster which I am sure is going to get easier day by day.  Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers!

  • So sorry you had to go through that. I went through almost the exact same thing. I had an ectopic pregnancy that was confirmed Oct. 18 when they did an u/s. They actually sent me right to the hospital for emergency surgery. When they got in there they found that the tube had already started to burst and had to remove part of my tube as well. A couple more days and it could have been deadly. The only thing that made it a little easier was the fact that I was lucky to even be alive myself and that I still had one healthy tube. I think almost daily about where I would be at with my pregnancy if this hadn't happened. Fortunately, like you, I have a strong support system in my fiance, he was also very helpful and supportive when I had my surgery. I hope things start to look up for you and hopefully we will see each other on the pregnancy board sometime in the future:)
