We had to bring the puppy gate back out! Our kitchen table us pub height and our dd is a monkey! I didn't even know they had these!!! Although she may bull doze it over
I'n need of one of these so so so bad! If for no other reason than we have a very large archway from our bedroom to living room and can't find a gate large enough to hinder the dog.

The cage!!! Lol me and my DH always crack up at these
I swore I'd never own one. Ate those words. My mom has one too... We join them together and make a huge cage :-)
Lol!! I'm not saying anything bad about them, just I don't think I could ever get one. I would die of laughter or make my own hunger game gif lmao. I did see the comment about the Christmas tree which I could see being helpful. But us having another boy, I think DH would have too much fun lol Let the games begin!!!
Both of my older kids hated this thing! It didn't matter what we put in there, where it was placed, or how we talked it up: it was clearly perceived as an infringement on their freedom!
Hope everyone else has better luck
The key is early conditioning. Stick them in it for tummy time and they won't know any better. MOTY here!
Love it and I agree, that is a great price. We used this to keep DS out of theChristmas tree, the entertainment center, and really wide doorways. Then we used it again when we got our puppy!
Something about this freaks me out. Not judging anyone who uses them, but I don't think I want one. If you're just using it once in awhile, why not a pack and play? ....enlighten me STMs!
Is there a gate or a panel that opens on these things? Because I have trouble using all baby containment devices because I can't reach the baby when the are in them due to my shortness. Thanks.
Wow, that's honestly the best price I've seen for that.
I know! BRU runs this every Black Friday! That's when my mom and I bought ours and SIL has bought one then too. I watch every year and they always run this on sale. This is also a great item to buy at yard sales. Totally easy to sanitize (just take it outside and hose it down!)
Does it need to go on carpeting? I have no clue where I'd put that if I got it... but for the price, it might be worthwhile.
No... we have hardwoods and we used it just fine- no scratches. But when baby starts walking they may be able to push it around from inside. Which is pretty hilarious... If it becomes a problem, you can just buy a cheap rug to put under it. We used one of those ikea play rugs for like $10 and it was fine.

It's much bigger than a pack n play. Also, like others have pointed out, you can unhook the pieces and make one really LONG gate if you need to block off a large area (for a christmas tree, fireplace, etc). IL's have side by side open stair cases in their living room. There is no way to safely attach a normal baby gate so SIL opens up her Super Yard as wide as it will go and sort of wraps it around the walls (hard to explain). It's completely safe and keeps the kids away from those stairs. Custom gates are pretty damn expensive so these things are perfect solutions for weird circumstances where you don't need a permanent gate.
Is it in store only? I was thinking of getting a couple of these to block off the brick hearth around our wood stove and the tv.
Also, the way you talk about conditioning babies for it sounds like me explaining that my dogs actually like their crates.
I think it is in store only but not totally sure. I've bought them on BF before and BRU is usually not that packed (unless its one that is combined with a Toys R Us!) so I wouldn't feel like I had to rush out early in the morning for this one. Just get there by 11 or 12 in case they only have a couple in stock?
As for conditioning... I swear it works. I know that sounds awful but we started using it early on with both of our kids. For DS, it the animals away from him and his toys. For DD, it kept her away from DS's toys that were too small for her. Although he even liked to climb in there to play with his legos and keep her OUT- ha. I make fun of it, but really, my whole family loves it. It keeps our kids safe and saves our sanity :-) When they get to that age where they are crawling/cruising, it is just really nice to be able to put them somewhere safe while you cook/clean/etc.
I want one! Would really help with keeping the dogs from licking and trying to snuggle the baby. My dogs are snugglers but dont realize they are 85 pounds and not 8

FTM question - How much do 9-10 month babies move? Couldn't we just wait to get this next year?
ETA: never mind, google says babies usually start crawling around 7-10 months.
DD was scooting around at 6 mos and good Lord, that child could roll herself anywhere she wanted to go! You could wait but like I said above, it's all about getting them used to it early on. If they have unlimited freedom to roam the house and then you try to put them in a play yard... yeah- that's not going to go well. We have a completely open floor plan on the first floor- kitchen, breakfast, living room, dining room are all WIDE OPEN and then of course stairs. Some people may be fine with their kids having free reign but that doesn't work for us.
It's really not meant to be a mean thing. LO's can hurt themselves getting into things like fireplaces or pulling on plugs and stuff like that. It's a safe play area because sometimes you need to wash dishes or do something where your there but doing something else. It was a huge help for myself and several people I know. We also took it outside at times. We later used it opened up flat to block balls from rolling down the driveway as he got older and was bouncing balls against the garage.

Both of my kids started taking their first steps at 10 months. With DD we just put a gate on the stairs so she couldn't climb up. Now my office is upstairs so I will definitely need "the cage".
