Highlights while pregnant

I'm sure this has been discussed many moons back. As you know I've been very ill with my second pregnancy. Since I've been bed ridden for 3 months my hair is a hot mess! I made an appoitment to get it chopped but I am in desperate need of highlights too. I was blonde my whole life and as I got older needed highlights to maintain the blonde and since I had dd my hair seems darker and doesn't hold the highlights nearly as long. So what is your thought on highlights while pregnant some say no way some say yes. I'll be just shy of 17 weeks when I have the appointment.

Go for it. I got highlights 3x while PG with DD. She came out alright...so far,

Go for it. I color every 6-8 weeks and still did while PG.

This is why I love this board! I have evidence now to convince my husband that it's fine. I am feeling like a new woman !!! It's amazing. I'm still weak and on high doses of meds but my nausea is way less! Thanks for asking

I thought this was going to be asking for highlights of our pregnancies!

I also got my hair highlighted a few times while pregnant. I think they just say to try and avoid it in the first trimester. Glad to hear you're starting to feel better!

I got my hair highlighted during both pregnancies. It's perfectly safe.

I highlighted to. As PPs have said before, if it was dangerous hair stylists would have to take their entire PG off.

I dyed my hair every 6 weeks during both of my pregnancies. Neither of my kids have tails ;0)

Highlighting with foils is especially safe because then the product doesn't touch your scalp. I worked with color all day, 6 days a week while pregnant and I promise my child has no extra limbs or eyeballs

My Hairdresser told me the hormones while your pregnant can mess with how your hair processes color and I noticed color always took longer to take while I was pregnant.

Hi! It's good to see you. I'm happy to hear you're feeling quite a bit better. Hopefully you can stop the meds before too long. If not, at least the good news is that they are working somewhat!!

Glad to see you are doing ok. Is it getting any better?

I did highlights multiple times with all 3 pregnancies. One of my BFFs does hair and she said highlights are better than all over color because it doesn't just sit in your scalp.
