Bedtime

So, I find myself being ready for bed earlier and earlier. Before getting pregnant, I was averaging getting to bed between 10:39 and 11. Since getting pregnant my bedtime has been pushed back from 10:30 to 10 to 9 to 8. Now, here it is 7:45 and I am struggling to stay awake until 8!

Anyone else sleeping a ridiculous amount of hours each night?

  • I sleep between 10-11 hours a night.  Which is way more than I ever used to but I am such a happier person.  I just really need sleep.

  • I was that way the 1st tri. It's gotten better 2nd tri I can make 10:15/30. DS just went to bed so I would have no time to get anything done if I went to bed at 7:45.

  • @DTNZ4Ever, yeah, I can't imagine going through this process with older kids who depend on me for food and comfort! I'm barely able to feed myself most days.
  • @andreabills luckily DS is 4.5 so he can do a lot on his own I can't imagine being pregnant with younger child who needs diapers and close supervision. Luckily DS can entertain himself for a little while, while I sit down for a few minutes.

  • An early bedtime was my first pregnancy symptom... Before I even got my bfp!

  • During 1st tri I took naps during the day which is very unusual for me.  Now that I'm in 2nd tri I actually am back to my usual routine.  I'm a bit of a night owl so late nights are really no big deal.  Waking up in the morning is hell, but it always has been.  Currently I feel pretty blessed, aside from bigger boobs, an obvious bump, and flutters in my belly... I'd really have no clue I was even pregnant!  We'll see how long that lasts lol
  • Yes!!!! I used to go to bed around 9-10 (my alarm goes off at 5). Now once I get home around 5ish, I'm on the couch, eat supper, and am getting ready for bed around 7. Must nights I don't sleep well anyways!

  • This is kid #4 for me. I don't remember what sleep is anymore. I go to bed around 11 and get up at 5:30. I get up once or twice to check on DS still.
  • Ooooh yeah. I used to fall asleep on the couch around 10. Now I'm lucky if I make one new show until 8:30. Haha.

  • Definitely!!! With DD#1 I remembered going from a bedtime from 12-1am to a bedtime of 7:30-8pm. I've always been a night owl, but I just could not keep my eyes open later 8pm. Before this pregnancy I usually went to sleep around 11:30, but the last two weeks I've gone to sleep as early as 7:00 and then i sleep for 11hrs! I'm sure once I hit 30wks I'll be sleeping for 13 hours on and off though since it is hard to get comfy!
  • If 8:30 rolls around and I am not in bed I kind of lose it! I don't even care if it's too early I need it!

  • During 1st tri, I would take a nap whenever I could..that usually lasted up to 3 hours (if DD slept that long) then would be in bed by 8:15 after putting DD down and up at 6 for work. Now it's day to day. Sometimes I can make it to 10 or 10:30...other days,like yesterday, I was literally asleep on the couch at 6pm and had to pull myself together after a quick catnap until DD fell asleep at 8 and I could actually get to bed. Every now and then I still need a nap too. I think it getting dark earlier makes it even harder to stay awake!
  • I sleep SO MUCH (bed time around 8 or 9, depending on the night) and yet I still feel exhausted!

  • Yep, going to bed much earlier than I ever have.  I am typically a night owl, staying up until around 1130 most nights, now I'm more in the 9-9:30 camp.  I don't have to wake up until 8 for work, so I'm getting about 11 hours of sleep per night and I feel I need every last big of it!
