An update on baby Camille

Thank you all for sending thoughts, vibes and prayers! I won't be posting a birth story quite yet because, as you can imagine, it's a doozy. I just wanted to give an update.

I was transferred to the mother/baby hospital attached to Children's yesterday early evening to be closer to Cami. Here's the skinny on her: when she got here, she was diagnosed as having a severely narrow left ventricle in her heart. The cardiologist that performed the procedure to correct the issue basically did an angioplasty by inserting, via catheter in her pubic area, a balloon that he blew up a few times to make the ventricle bigger.

I haven't gotten to talk to him but he called M personally and he said that the procedure was more successful than he had hoped for, that she might not even need surgery in a few years. We got to visit her last night in cardiac ICU and our parents got to meet their granddaughter for the first time! They took pictures of her there in her big bed, but M hates that she is on a ventilator and refused to take pictures of her there.

She is doing so much better! She is actually getting 30% more oxygen than what the ventilator is giving her so that means she is getting it on her own! We might get to hold her today, depending on how she does when they try to ween her off the ventilator. I'm sorry if this sounds jumbled. I haven't slept much and I am on heavy pain meds. Here is a few pictures of our little girl. image
