Crib mattress height

When is everyone lowering their crib mattress? More so, what milestones should the crib be lowered after reaching? Obviously our LOs aren't standing in their own... Yet ;) but thus far I've been unable to find solid info on the interwebs. I turn to you trusty bmb and btdt moms!!

Truth be told yesterday baby J was in his crib for the very first time (RnP refluxy baby) We are hoping (I underline hoping) to transition him in the crib this weekend. When I laid him in it he looked so close to the top and so big! I asked my husband if he thought it needed to be lowered and I got the "it's fine" response...

Anyhow in milestone world... J can sit unassisted (but cannot bring himself up unassisted) he rolls belly to back, is starting to get his knees under him while on his tummy, and he loves to stand (obviously assisted haha) He will be six months on the 24th.

Crib lowering thoughts? Advice?

    I think I lowered the mattress to the middle height when DS could sit himself up and then lowered it all the way when he started to pull himself up to standing position.

    Your crib manufacturer might have a set weight limit.

    I lowered DD's to the middle height when she started sitting on her own.  Then lowered it all the way when she started pulling herself to standing. 

    ETA:  lol I should've read the responses first.  Ditto @Ilbta85!

    Ugh, I'm so short I don't know how I'm going to reach my guy once it's on the lowest setting. LO isn't sitting yet, so I have time, but I'm dreading it!

    It gets easier because they "participate" in the being lifted as opposed to our blobs :)
